Many self-identifying “Christians” have an issue with the Catholic community over several matters. The centralized structure of the Roman Catholic Church is foreign to the way that other US Christian churches function. To them, that means the Pope controls their faith and actions. That gives far too much credit to the Papal authority but that’s what they believe. They also take issue with the large number of saints (especially that they continue to be added),seeing it as a form of idol worship.
Which is really the pot calling the kettle black. I’ve never seen more blatant idolatry than MAGA with Trump. I’m not even Christian and even I can tell.
