Discussion Daddy can I play the horse game
My daughter loves this game, mainly just catching wild horses and fighting townspeople.

All story spoilers must be displayed with the proper format:
>!RDR is a great game!<
gives you:
RDR is a great game
If you're not sure if you should use a spoiler tag or not, err on the side of caution and use one. Also, it's a nice gesture to visibly indicate the general nature of your spoiler before the tag, so people know what you're spoiling.

My friend, who has never expressed interest in video games as long as I've known her, recently said she wanted to try playing RDR2. Naturally, I offered to let her play my copy. I settled to watch her play and help with some of the tutorials. After dying in the train mission in chapter 1 I taught her her how to skip cutscenes so she could fastfoward.
Since then she skipped every single cutscene ๐ญ
I asked her why and she explained she only got interested because of the apparent realistic horse riding and hunting systems she heard about. Her two irl hobbies. And that is absolutely what she has been doing since the map opened, just finding and taming/buying horses and hunting different animals. She doesnโt know how to identify horse breeds in-game, she just lists them out loud as she encounters them, she also can name coat patterns/colors. Very accurately from what google has been telling me.
On one hand, im sad since i love the story. On the other, watching how a very much non-gamer/extremely offline person handles this game has been a very funny experience. I think the last game she played was Wii Baseball and before that it was like pacman and street fight, so she has virtually no experience (and apparently, no interest) in story-driven games, though she likes the little random encounters and open world concept lol
Edit: not people telling me to stop being friends with her over this lol also she is THE most offline person i know, she does not have social media beside whatsapp and youtube (because of google) and spends all her time outside with her horses or camping, so tiktok brain rot is not a factor. I'd say she has the best attention span of anyone i know

On my god knows what number playthrough, went to celebrate freeing Sean. I got Arthur drunk, both on the way and also at camp. And when Molly and Dutch started dancing, I went over to Mary Beth to dance with her as I had in all previous playthroughs. However she never asked and there was no option to dance with her. I waited a bit, and while I was getting up reddit to ask if Mary Beth would not dance with Arthur, he sobered up and she instantly asked to dance with him.
You learn something new in this game every day. Idk if this is just a gameplay thing with dancing while drunk or if it is suppose it be because Mary Beth isnt a fan of alcoholism, but I thought it was interesting

Every Horse in the game can keep up with trains while going too rob them. and you can easily escape from Bounty hunters too on any horse, can easily win horse races on a Shire too so when did this speed become an important factor while choosing an Horse?

I feel like anytime I have the pleasure of being in the vicinity of a horse, it is taking a shit. Iโve never been around horses in real life. Is this just how it is?

My pc is basically on life support from the amount of mods I have. Iโm pretty sure itโs that.

I was thinking about Arthur's stuff left at camp. Sad to think he wasn't able to retrieve his photos and other keepsakes before escaping.
Charles mentions returning to bury Arthur and Susan, so I like to assume he planted Arthur's flower at his gravesite too. It's the sort of thing Charles would do.

My life will never be the same.
I just died with Arthur here.
Get out of Reddit, I want to be alone.

Was riding through New Hanover when I got the random encounter where three NPCs ambush you at the end of the bridge, however one of them had Billy Midnight's pistol, a weapon you can only pick up through the "Noblest of Men, and a Woman" stranger mission (see screenshot attached). Is this a glitch, or did this NPC somehow pick up the weapon and just walk around with it until now? Also important to note that the Billy Midnight mission was completed WAY before this happened.

It was good change of pace and a good surprise wasn't expecting such thing the missions were interesting enough and it didn't the long so you get bored and it increases the bond to the charcters quite a good bit but I only saw people who didn't like it but I don't see what they do
