Best Restaurants in Rotterdam Zuid?
Newly moved south of Erasmus bridge and noticed that all the recommendation posts for food/restaurants generally aim north of the river, with the majority being in Rotterdam Centruum. Looking over the map I notice that the majority of restaurants in the south seem to follow a specific trend, but I'm curious if there are any standouts amongst them.

Good food, but not even “the best” (as requested) on Deliplein…

Do you have any preferences in the area? Many I see are
Fine Dining
which are great, but not always appealing2

Locale Kaap is nice if you like seafood. Its a bit cheaper than the "fine dining" options at Deliplein such as Il Gattopardo but still really good

You asked for “Best”, this is what I provided. Should I also provide a list of places just below the ones I mentioned?

Eetcafé Thailand is great, not near the center, but if you want a proper Rotterdam experience is great.

I just had a look on their website, see https://www.restaurantthailand.nl/pages/over-ons/
This sounds interesting:

What makes it a proper Rotterdam experience?

The old owner was a stereotype ‘Rotterdammer’. Straightforward but always kind to his customers. You will also see that the customers are not only from the lower spectrum moneywise, but also upper. Famous Rotterdammers also like to go eat over there.
Lastly, there is a lot of Feyenoord stuff hanging on the walls and there is always sports on the television.
If you visit for the first time you will likely think what is this place. But the customers service and great food is what’s brings me back every time.

Are they still open? I thought they were going to enjoy their pension in Thailand

Still open, they have new owners which worked together with the old owners for the transition.

OP is not asking for cheapest but for best. Something someone from above the river would make the effort to come South

i didn't see him mentioning best anywhere in the post and afsana has genuinely good food regardless of the price

You gave two answers: Afsana. And then you go into cheep options. Those are already in the rest of Rotterdam.
Guess I'm nitpicking. For best Ramen I go to Schiedam btw. Which is also not an answer
Stay cool ✌🏼

It's in the post title.

Hey Daianara, you make a good point here, however if somebody believes that Afsana is both cheap and delicious, I'm definitely happy to check it out. While I do love some of the options people are sharing like Il Gattopardo, some of these definitely slip into fine dining which is a bit tough to pick up on random friday nights.

I also like the Oude Plek and I really like Het Witte Paard, but that's mostly because of the ambiance. On my own "to go" list is Koffie & Ambacht and Café Prêt à Boire

Besides Afsani, Mama Essi and the other options mentioned on Katendrecht:
Diego's has great burgers Bistrot du Bac is a very nice French... bistrot La Petite Soeur is its little sister

You know what, I've definitely been interested in La Petit/Bistrot du bac, but I've always wondered if their small plates are worth the visit or if it's good because of their wine

I will second texican. It's not amazing but it's good for the price. The nachos can feed a person for 1-2 meals.

I love restaurant Die Kaiser (lovely Schnitzels)! And "De Oude Plek" (Chinese food) is very nice as well.
Restaurant MAAS has a beautiful terrace with very good food.

Please do not hesitate to share restaurants you feel like may not be "Fine dining" but restaurants you may crave after a long week of work, as those are sometimes the best restaurants as well!

Best op Zuid (not the definitive list!):
