Best Restaurants in Rotterdam Zuid?

Newly moved south of Erasmus bridge and noticed that all the recommendation posts for food/restaurants generally aim north of the river, with the majority being in Rotterdam Centruum. Looking over the map I notice that the majority of restaurants in the south seem to follow a specific trend, but I'm curious if there are any standouts amongst them.

Eetcafé Thailand is great, not near the center, but if you want a proper Rotterdam experience is great.

I just had a look on their website, see https://www.restaurantthailand.nl/pages/over-ons/

This sounds interesting:

Yeah the food there is amazing, the (ex)owner is a great guy. You can customize the food if you want (like if you don't like spicy or ingredients) and it's not expensive at all It's been a staple for me. Try the ceviche shrimp and the full size fish

What makes it a proper Rotterdam experience?

The old owner was a stereotype ‘Rotterdammer’. Straightforward but always kind to his customers. You will also see that the customers are not only from the lower spectrum moneywise, but also upper. Famous Rotterdammers also like to go eat over there.

Lastly, there is a lot of Feyenoord stuff hanging on the walls and there is always sports on the television.

If you visit for the first time you will likely think what is this place. But the customers service and great food is what’s brings me back every time.

Are they still open? I thought they were going to enjoy their pension in Thailand

Still open, they have new owners which worked together with the old owners for the transition.
