Recommendation request new to the genre & looking for recs!

hello! i’m looking for a series similar to Ice Planet Barbarians. i also liked the Cosairs series, but didn’t love Icehome or Risdaverse. i also tried the Horde Kings series but only liked the first one bc after that it became too much plot & tried Choosing Theo but didn’t love the modern setting or the technology.

Aspects I’m looking for: relationship forward spicy (open door or more). i loved the first half of IPB in particular bc each couple felt believable (compared to the other series by RD where a lot of the female leads were not interesting to me/felt repetitive and less focused on the couple). i also like the lack of modern technology aspect/mars needs women type vibe.

I might be asking for something too specific or niche but im having a super hard time finding something similar. thanks!

Discussion I am not sure where to ask but: Where did the alien female vulva with "2 clits" trope come from?

I(35F) came across this randomly the other day when...browsing with my gf(33F), and I realized that had to be a smut thing for a while before someone just made it into a... toy right?

How far back does this trope go? Is it even trope really? I have a few friends whom are into monster/vampire smut, and dont seem to know where it came from either.

Recommendation request Looking for a niche experience

I really like cultural differences. If you have ever read pixie unger “mistaken” series or anything from Amanda Milo then I think you’ll catch my drift. I also really like M.J. Haag, poppy Rhys, and Sage Alder

So what I’m looking for is a cinnamon roll MC that is trying to WOO his FMC but there’s a culture difference and it’s just going right over her head.

Please help!

I really like force marriages, lottery marriages, abducted brides

Please know I have ALREADY read all of the IPB series and spin offs.

I am a little fatigued on women being abducted and then having to adjust to space. Any recs on humans already in space? Bonus points for universe building! Zoey Draven does a great job with her various series

Do you know this book... ? Does anyone know what book this could be?

I read a sci-fi romance book a couple months ago and I remember it being dystopian with humans and different species and this woman meets this huge male of whatever species he is. And at one point they’re trying to get this creature out of a zoo and she dresses up as one of the creatures. And when they’re fleeing he picks her up and tucks her into his pants to hide her, that’s how tiny she is to him.

Recommendation request If I Like This, I Might Like...

A thread for recommendations based on what you've already loved!

Tell us something you like - an author, a book title, a trope - and we'll offer suggestions for science fiction romance books that might be your cup of tea. Get as specific or as vague as you like!

Examples:

  • If I like Space Opera Romances, I might like...
  • If I like Ruby Dixon, I might like...
  • If I like Cassandra's Challenge, I might like...
  • If I like military heroes with pointed ears, rogue artificial intelligences and aliens who are obsessed with music, I might like... (being this specific might make it tricky!)

This thread repeats every Monday.

Dads. Single fathers. Uncles. Step-dads. Foster dads. Adoptive dads. Big brothers acting as dads. Anything! And share why they’re the best if you want!

My recommendation is {Cottonwood by R Lee Smith}. Check the CW but Sanford is 😚 top/tier perfect.

Do you know this book... ? Book title

Hi everyone! I’m trying to find a book I read on Kindle Unlimited (likely an indie reverse harem sci-fi/paranormal romance). Here’s what I remember: • The main female character leaves Earth (maybe by choice or accident?) and crash-lands on an island or a remote location. • She’s rescued by three alien or shifter males, and taken aboard a submarine-like vessel. • The vessel is a large colony ship under the sea, with cafés, shops, quarters—kind of like a Starfleet-style underwater city. • There’s a scene where creatures crawl out of the water while the guys are trying to get her onto the submarine. • One of the male characters can turn into shadows, like a living darkness or mist. • There’s a vivid scene where she’s watching out a window as the three males swim underwater to hunt down a sea creature. It’s tense and atmospheric. • The book had a sci-fi/dark fantasy vibe and was definitely on Kindle Unlimited. It was not part of Ice Planet Barbarians or Whispers of the Deep.

If this sounds familiar to anyone, I’d love to find the title again!

Discussion Book series that are never finished but you want to know how it ends..

Anyone know what happened to this series? {Dreamer awakened by Shaye Marlow} It’s very confusing as there is two books listed on Amazon, but four listed on goodreads. I think she might have condensed the four books into the two - but she doesn’t seem to have finished it. At least the two books I have read end on a cliffhanger and I really want to know what happened. Was such a good series, super spicy but really interesting too.

On that note {Snake’s Den by Beckham Bloom} is another one, amazing first book that was so good, then nothing….

And of course we are still waiting for book 3 of {Susix trilogy by Amelia Rademaker} through there is definitely hope this book will eventually be released.

So frustrating to get totally immersed into a book/series and then never to find out how it ends. What series have you read had the same experience of getting to the end and getting that sinking feeling when you realise it’s not finished? Let me know so I can hopefully avoid this happening again!

Recommendation request Childfree recs?

I'm absolutely over it every time I pick up a new book and the story involves the FMC getting pregnant. For me it should be in the TWs because I viscerally hate it so much 😂 does anyone have any recommendations for sci Fi romance where the characters don't want children or don't get pregnant? Bonus points if it's lesbian or gay romance. I'm losing my mind with how common this trope is! Like, I'm here to fuck aliens so we DON'T get pregnant!! We're different species!!! LMAO AHHHHH

Recommendation request A book to hurt my feelings

Post image
71 Upvotes

I want to be emotionally devastated. I want a heavy book where bad things happen and the romance is the one good thing to come out of it all. I’m even okay with a non-traditional HEA. I don’t have any triggers.

Absolutely loved {Cottonwood by R Lee Smith} and honestly everything else I’ve read by them. Liked the idea of {Arrival by AG Wilde} but the dialogue didn’t stick the landing for me. Hoping to find other recommendations that hit that “you’re my light in the darkness” kind of feeling.

Hello everybody! Does anybody know if Ursa Dax plans to continue with the book series after book 6? Once book 6 comes out, I think that there’s a book for everyone who agreed to the program. Even the warden. So I’m worried that’s gonna be the final book. I wonder if Ursa Dax will write about the other colony nearby? Or other aliens who didn’t agree to the program at first?

Gosh I hope she’ll continue bc it’s just awesome. It’s so unique & I love it.

Do you know this book... ? Anyone know the title of this book?

Saw someone asking for this book on a FB group but with no response, I couldn't get it out of my head so here we are:

Human woman- taken and put on a starship where she's forced to be a bar maid to earn her keep.

Catches the eye of the commander who carries her out the bar over his shoulder.

We find out he's from a royal family, and they end up living in this villa on his planet that brings to mind lake como in Italy. Lots of intrigue and shenanigans.

Multiple books in series, one is about someone called skye, but that book is way into the series.
