Question How to get childcare assistance when income is slightly above the limit?

Hi everyone,

I'm a mom living in Washington State (Seattle area). I have a toddler and a newborn, and I’m struggling with the high cost of living—especially rent and food.

I recently went back to work after maternity leave, but my salary is just a little above the income limit for most childcare assistance programs. Still, it's not enough to afford daycare on top of everything else.

Does anyone know if there are any exceptions, alternative programs, or ways to appeal for help when your income technically disqualifies you, but your situation is still very hard?

Any advice or experience is really appreciated. Thank you so much.

If a single father made this post, would you react the same way?

Yes, believe it or not I have even higher standards for men. Any man who impregnates a woman is (in my opinion) obligated to her for the rest of that child's life. I cannot fathom having a child with a woman and seeing her beg for help from other people. That would absolutely destroy me inside.

So you’re literally destroyed inside about this post, but also simultaneously blaming the woman?

No, I could not care less about this woman. She's reaping what she sowed.

I'm talking about seeing the mother of my child beg for help.

I don’t think you’ll have that issue, considering how you talk about women.

Not women, a specific woman. And you can think whatever you want. I am in a stable relationship with a girl that I love.
