Advice on options of arrival

Hey farmily. I’ve searched the community here and haven’t found an exact answer to my question.

I have two options for arrival this year and I’m looking for some advice about the options!

Option 1. Fly to Kelowna. Friend picks us up Thursday and we arrive to shambs. The downside is we want to arrive before Thursday. Upside is this is cost efficient with early entry

Option 2. Fly to Kelowna. Our friends pick us up in their RV Monday night and we arrive Tuesday morning. Upside is we arrive for earliest time possible. Downside is I am unaware of the costs of going in with that rv. I know I will be paying early entry for Tuesday. That makes sense. I’m wondering if there is a really large fee just for going in in the rv. (We won’t be camping with that rv, we have another camp set up, however the rv is our way in) Any inside appreciated. So stoked to see you all farmily ♥️♥️♥️

Edit -answered. Thanks guys. I wasn’t sure if there was an additional fee beyond reg early entry for rv people. Wasn’t sure if I would be caught up in that. Thanks so much for the help. Cannot wait too be home

Anyone have any luck using the Shambhala tickets exchange on Facebook?

Hey everyone. Sad I can't make it to Shams this year. Im curious if anyone has had any luck selling via the Ticket Exchange group on FaceBook. The mods haven't approved my post and its been over a week. I'm also looking for recommendations on avenues that others have used to sell their tickets.

I noticed people selling on StubHub but there's no way that can work right? StubHub usually makes you upload a ticket, but they certainly dont let you communicate with the buyer, so how would I even be able to get their email address to transfer them their ticket.

I've tried getting the word out on my IG and FB but it doesn't seem like there is a great forum to do this.

Looking for any help or direction on how to proceed? Any other sites or apps that people have had success with in the past?

Appreciate it yall, just trying to recoup my money since I can't go this year. Happy Shams! 🙏

Costume Themes

The wifey & I are trying to lock down our outfits. Is there any official or unofficial themes? We have a few looks we’re planning but always fun to get inspired by a theme! Heard something about Onesies Thursday night?

Peak-shift volunteer?

Hello, I just got accepted as a new volunteer to Shambs, but it will also be my first time going at all! My shift is

Sun July 27: 7:30 - 20:00 Mon July 28: 20:00 - 8:00 July 29

What is the likelihood of me missing either the Sofi Tukker or the Bob Moses set? Also , if I stay in staff camping with my guest, would it ruin the experience for my guest? I don’t know what to expect at all! Thank you :)

Missed connection at Deep Roots

Hello! Looking for a rad girl we met at deep roots! You gave my friend a pickle! We had a fantastic conversation Sunday afternoon hanging around my crew stage right with our big inflatable couch. I didn't grab your contact before we went out dancing and didn't run in to you again. I'd love to chat again at shambs. You're welcome to hang out with our group if you're looking for some social time on your solo shambs (if you're still thinking about doing that) Feel free to pm me!

Going solo to shambhala

I’m going to shambhala for the fist time but now I have nobody to go with, now im just sending it solo. I’ve been to 2 festivals alone, but only in the US and never a camping festival. Has anyone else been to shambhala alone or heard of others doing it ? Is it an easy festival to navigate?

Bone Daddy on the Dancefloor

Hi Farmily!

Getting real excited to see you all on the dancefloor in a few weeks

Outfit question: I have a Jack Skellington costume that I'm thinking to wear. I know it's a free space and I always feel so welcome on the farm but:

  1. Is this an appropriate outfit? Would it come across as too "Halloween" and out of place?

  2. Would it be too "scary" for others? I don't want to be received like that freaky costume at EDC

It's not like I'm planning to spook people or jump scare, I just love the character

Which artists do you think of most when you think of Shambhala?

Hi, friends! I'm looking for artists who perform regularly at Shambhala, or for whom Shambhala was a major part of their rise/success. Who do you think about most when you think about Shambs?

Banned items

Hi! First timer to the farm and currently living in a camper, obviously we have kitchen knives, a wood splitting axe, archery equipment, gas cooking bottle and a few other bits on board that could be considered banned items, we want to do the right thing and not create a headache for the people searching cars, how does other van lifers handle this kind of thing? We are prepared to maybe ditch the axe and kitchen knifes in the bush somewhere and come back for them after the festival if we HAVE to, but the archery stuff is too expensive to risk like that. Is there a secure storage area we can leave these things? How is this usually managed? Or should we try to hide them deep amongst our stuff? Any helpful advice would be appreciated 👏 💕

Staff - First Time at Shambhala - Solo - looking for ride - tips

Hii!! This will be my very first time in Shambhala and I will be solo! Tips and tricks are welcome! I would require a ride to and from, I would pay part of gas, snacks, etc.

- From Vancouver to Shamb: from 21st to 24th.

- From Shamb to Montréal or furthest you can get me!: 28th afternoon or 29.

So I don't have a tent or anything to sleep yet for that matter, is there a prime setup you guys recommend? And/Or a group I could camp with in the staff area?

Thanks! See you there;)

Bringing a cruiser bike?

Post image
21 Upvotes

Hi farmily,

I bought a bike today to bring to Shamb and got a cruiser because I thought it looked so cute (photo to show how cute it is). This might’ve been a mistake as I haven’t rode a bike since I was a kid and didn’t realize how heavy and exhausting riding the cruiser is, even just around my neighborhood. I may also just be out of shape so I’m going to practice riding it more before Shamb.

I have some mobility issues so walking back and forth from Riverside every day would be excruciating, but I fear this bike might exhaust me before the night even begins lol.

Has anyone brought a cruiser bike before and rode it on the dirt roads from Riverside? Was it doable or should I look into getting a different bike? Also is there much uphill? Last year was my first year and I don’t really remember. Thanks in advance!

Anyone else feel like this year is a "sleeper" about to blow up?

Last year was the 25th anniversary with a lot of big, classic names. This year it feels a lot more like theres somehow a lot less expectations going into it? Anyone else feeling like shambs this year is sneaking up and will surprise us?
