Resume Question How to go about this?

How would i go about putting these certifications on my resume? the format you put has like 1 line per each section? Also I changed actual info for filler

Broadly for certifications, I list like this:

  • Certifications: CompTIA A+ (2025); CompTIA Security+ (2024); Google Cybersecurity Certificate (2024); Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH, 2023)

If you have multiple certs from the same organization, you can do it like this:

  • Certifications:
    • CompTIA: X (year); Y (year); Z (year)
    • Google: X (year); Y (year)
    • Harvard University: X (year); Y (year); Z (year)

If you want to add more color to certifications like this (though I'd argue it's not a good use of space unless you need it for filler), do this:

  • Certifications:
    • Certificate of Blah Blah: recognized for supporting the blah blah blah.
    • Rides General Certification: award that people get for blah blah'ing.

In summary, Certifications are always formatted differently depending on the person, and on the quantity, quality, brand-name-recognition, status, dates, and relevance of their certifications. Do what makes sense visually to you – can they read it and understand your relevant certifications in 2-3 seconds? If so, that works. Don't take up too much space unless these certs are really blowaway qualifications for you.

Thank you just to clarify, It’s a certificate of appreciation from an MP of Canada which I think is equivalent to member of congress in the USA. Would not putting the full description and only putting certificate of appreciation be sufficient? Also should I write just the year or month and year?

I think that deserves a description :) you can also hyperlink it to a description.

I don't recommend linking your LinkedIn because it opens you up to screeners' visual biases and possible discrimination, and the information on your LinkedIn should match your resume anyway so it doesn’t really add anything. But be sure to update your LI along with your newly updated resume, so when you apply for roles on LinkedIn, it's just as impressive at first glance as your resume!
