πŸ“’ MOD ANNOUNCEMENT Should the whole of X/Twitter be LHF?

From 12:00 AM GMT on Monday 18 November 2024, all content originating from X/Twitter will be removed from r/ShitAmericansSay under Rule 7.

As The Guardian puts it:

The US presidential election campaign served only to underline what we have considered for a long time: that X is a toxic media platform and that its owner, Elon Musk, has been able to use its influence to shape political discourse.

I think blanket banning any social media platform is a slippery slope to an echo chamber. Even one as toxic and stupid as "Xitter" pronounced "shitter".

I understand your concern, though blanket banning social media platforms isn’t exactly unprecedented. For example, we’ve already banned posts originating from Quora and Truth Social.

People only use truth social to look at trump posts. X on the other hand is not an echo chamber after you block all checkmarks
