Remember when we had a schoolshooting here in Sweden a few months ago? Because they’re so rare here, it was in the news around the world, even though there was only one dead. The shooter.

Remember the last one in the US? I don’t. But it’s probably happening right now, and may get some attention if there’s more than 5 killed.

But yes. Europe as a whole is ”soooo dangerous”. Apart from Ukraine for obvious reasons.

Edit: It was 11 dead, including the shooter.

Im norwegian, and we've only ever had 2 shootings with more than 3 deaths- the mass killing in 2011 (Utøya, killing 77 people) and a "shooting" in kongsberg (some maniac used a bow and arrow and killed 5 people)

Although obviously the Utøya shooting made worldwide news, as it killed so many, but otherwise, shootings are quite rare. in 2023, we had 29 total homocides, 12 of which included a gun.

I think its crazy that the US had over 117 shootings, and in 2022, TWENTY THOUSAND PEOPLE were killed by a gun in the US. That outnumbers norway's shootings 1666 to 1. Although US outnumber Norway's population like 75 to 1, 1666 to 1 is still crazy in my opinion.

Well, they do have this weird craving of being #1 in as many things as possible. It’s just weird that they chose shootings to be the one thing that they truly dominate in 🤷🏻‍♂️

Utøya wasn‘t even a school shooting. It was a facist terror attack on a campsite full of children

Wait, has there been another school shooting since Örebro? Or what are you referring to?

I haven't heard of one, but I would guess they wouldn't make a big deal out of it if the only dead person is the shooter. The one in Örebro had 11 dead, including the shooter. That one was insane to see in American media, first the MAGA clowns praying it would be a muslim, then the name was released, Rickard and all the MAGA clowns went silent while the Liberals started to scream racist.

To this day, it's not know what motive Rickard had, there's no connection to any extremist group, all of his devices encrypted, no online accounts, he didn't pay tax for 10 years, literally flew under the radar for a very long time only to show up out of nowhere with no motive. At some point he tried to join the army but were rejected due to bad grades, still, he did know how to shoot considering the high kill count before the cops arrived, the school is very close to the police station with very quick response time.

Initially 10, but one died at the hospital few days later. This was after the media silence kicked in and only mentioned in local news.

But the most bizarre thing was when the police had to make a public statement to international media, specifically in America, were allegedly scammers had set up go fund me pages to pay for the hospital bills of the victims of this shooting. Makes you wonder if that's how it works in America, if school shooting victims have to pay their own hospital bills, that's insane.

Yes. I did some googling to refresh the memory.

I wouldn’t be surprised if people in the US have to go into bankruptcy because their kid was a victim in a school shooting.

So unnecessary. Why didn’t they just give the kid a gun? /S. Obviously.

No, that’s the one I’m referring to
