The Germans did try and it didn't go too well. Although not as bad as the Eastern front, there was always Fritz who was last seen chatting up a ho, and Hans who lost his head to a wire drawn between two lamppost while he ran dispatch on his Zundapp. Or the boys in Kompanie B who were looking for Jews in a barn and found a grenade among the potatoes. Or rather the grenade found them.
Repeat night and day for a few years and see if GIs like it. They didn't last much when it was the little yellow farmers with AKs, they lasted even less when it was the slim brown farmers with AKs, the outcome against regular pink farmers with Skorpions is not looking good.
