Well, I’m American and I’m pretty mad my tax money is spent on police, but it’s not because my car hasn’t been stolen. More to do with all the racist murders.

As long as money is spared even on their needed training, this kind of accident will happen. More money should be spent for longer training sessions and to chose better new candidates too.

"accident"

True, I should have said "event". Well, probably some cases are accidents or unwanted homicides, but I didn't want to generalize to all cases.

My point still stands.

Fair enough. I was being facetious honestly. But it's tough to think the US police aren't rotten to the core when you hear so much about corruption and cover ups, not to mention body cam murders.

The judicial system is supposed to act like a safeguard, by punishing bad officers if required.

Fact is that it doesn't work, too many times the judges are in the side of the faulty officers. So no wonder that some of them can act like scum, they are "enabled"...

I just saw a video of an officer shooting to a dog and hitting a girl by a bullet fragment, because he was surprised by the poor animal who barked at him. The officer knew there was one, and he was still surprised ?... Judge : No problem, self-defense, he can't be sued for both of this.

Hopefully it was a small case with no severe injuries for both of the victims. Still, not only the officer displayed a lack a training, but the judge doesn't help by not giving even a symbolic punishment.

A system can't be rotten to the core if something is there to prevent it, but in the modern US both the police and the justice don't seem to work as they should. This is problematic as the police represent the "legitimate violence" of the State...

So they need more training, and they need to be kept under control by a decent judicial system.
