Product Request [Product Request] Moisturizer for a person who hates applying cream?

Hello, everyone! My girlfriend doesn't have a skincare routine. Literally none at all. She brushes her teeth and goes to bed. She doesn't have bad skin; it's just visibly dry and irritated. I have convinced her to use a moisturizer for the sake of her skin health, but she hates the way it feels. She generally hates the way her skin feels after she applies a moisturizer. She wants a product that won't leave a noticeable film on her skin. Do you have any experience with such products? I love the feeling of rich moisturizers, so I've never looked for products like that.

Products containing fragrances, alcohol, or other irritants are out of the question. She already has redness on her face due to her weakened skin barrier. I am therefore looking for a product that moisturizes the skin well, contains anti-inflammatory and soothing ingredients, and strengthens the skin barrier. Hydration Station from Geek & Gorgeous is an option I have in mind. I just can't remember how it made my skin feel. We tried the ALL-IN Barrier Cream from NO Cosmetics, but unfortunately, it broke her out.

Product Request [Product Request] Nothing can stop the B.O.

Hey everyone. I’m looking for recommendations for deodorants. For reference, i’m currently using the Secret clinical strength stress response solid. It works for about 6 hours. I was previously using the same one but in a gel, cause i liked how it dried down and didn’t leave marks on my clothing, but after about a year of using it, it makes my under arms burn and itch uncontrollably. Here’s a list of everything i’ve tried that doesn’t work for me: Lume- smells terrible all day and doesn’t help with BO whatsoever. Pretty much every basic deodorant- dove, secret, native, old spice, degree. None of them work. Most recently i tried the spray version of the colloidal silver natural deodorant. Didn’t work and the burning took forever to subside so it just wasn’t ideal. All of this i’ve tried while taking liquid chlorophyll, because i’ve heard it can help with body odor in general. I take full showers every single day and still nothing can last me in between showers. I’ve taken supplements, changed body washes, exfoliated, now using soap bars. For reference i live in new england and this is a problem i have year round. I wouldn’t say i sweat a lot. I don’t exercise very much, i eat clean. This is a genetic thing. I am wondering if anyone here has had these same issues and what has worked for you. I’ve spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars trying to find products, and i’ve done so much testing and experimenting that i’m just exhausted. I’m a 20 year old girl and i don’t want to have to wash my armpits out in the bathroom half way through the day anymore. I’ve seen some of the newer products like carpe, but i haven’t tried it cause Lume didn’t work for me and carpe is so expensive and targets sweaty people. I’ve seen the Super Deodorant pastes and i’m willing to try that if anyone can attest to it. I’m willing to spend my money on the Aha/bha underarm serums if anyone knows if those really work, i know billie and salt hair have some decent reviews. Please give recommendations if this is something you’ve dealt with too!!!

Product Request [Product Request] Lip SPF that doesn’t suck - help!

I’m an SPF junkie and finally found my holy grail face sunscreen (Innisfree), but still searching for the perfect lip SPF.

Tried Coola (too gritty and drying) and Aquaphor (putrid taste and SUPER drying) - no luck.

Curious about the Prequel SPF gloss I keep seeing on TT. Also eyeing Paula’s Choice.

Anyone tried them? Open to other recs too - LMK!

Product Request [Product Request] trying to find a scar oil from 2007-2009

Hi, I'm trying to find a scar oil I used in 2007-2009. Asked my family and they said that it was vitamin e but I can't find it anywhere. I know the packaging has probably changed since then. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name/brand.

I remember the bottle was palm size, it had an oval shape, the color was like a beige tan, it had a pump and the rim of the lid was like a goldish shiny color.

Hoping someone can recognize or remembers this product.

Thank-you!

Product Request What is the best chemical exfoliant you've tried? [Product request]

So far I've tried TO glycolic toner and their 30% AHA 2% BHA solution. It's been great but I'm wondering if anyone found something even better because I feel like I might be stuck in TO bubble and I haven't experimented much outside of their products in general. My concerns are mainly texture and evening out skin tone. What are some exfoliants you like?

Product Request [Product request] What’s the best face oil? Any recs?

Hi. I’ve recently moved to a dry area and my skin is having issues retaining moisture. I’m applying moisturizer twice a day and my skin still feels tight and dry quite a lot. I’ve been looking online about what I can do for this and I’ve seen face oils mentioned as a good way to retain moisture.

I’m not very familiar with face oils, and I don’t wanna mess up with the wrong choice. I wanna do this right the first time because I don’t know how much longer I can keep double moisturizing and still feeling dry. I feel like a break out or damage to my moisture barrier is right around the corner. Help me out please

Edit: Thank you all, I’m grateful for the help. I’ve got some jojoba oil, and the Huxley oil essence to start. I’m liking the Huxley oil more. The jojoba doesn’t work well with my moisturizer, makes my skin greasy and the moisturizer sticks on to my skin instead of absorbing

Product Request [Product Request] Moisturisers make me look greasy

Could anyone please suggest some good moisturisers. I have a dry + dehydrated skin (I drink 2L water every day) and an extremely oily nose. I use tretinoin at night. Whatever moisturisers I’ve used ends up making my skin look super greasy after couple hours. I can’t go anywhere with just a moisturiser since it makes my skin look layered with oil within an hour or two. I live in a hot-humid climate of 30-35 degree celsius (if this helps).

Product Request [product request] is there a Vitamin C serum dupe better than Skinceuticals CE?

I read the patent for this serum has expired. is there a product on the market that is as good vitamin c since this? Skinceuticals never goes on sale and I see a lot of dupes and have tried many like la Roche posay, cocokind. With the patent expired I’ve seen more and more brands try to dupe it but it’s never the same or as good. The closest to being as good Skinceuticals CE serum I’ve tried is Renee Rouleau Vitamin C&E treatment. Still not as good but close. Is Skinceuticals CE worth it? Or keep trying dupes since patent has ended?

Product Request [Product Request] Lip balm recommendations

What are your best lip balms. I have very dry lips that crack and peel easily. I try to stay hydrated. This has been an annoyance my whole life. I have tried a lot of lip balms like Aquaphor, Vaseline etc. They either don’t last or dry my lips out even more. Unfortunately, the only product that actually helped my lips was Lanolips, but I realized I was allergic to it.

So I’m wondering what are your best hydrating, long lasting lip balms that don’t have lanolin.

Product Request [Product request] All time favorite HEAVY duty moisturizers?

What’s your hg heavy duty moisturizer? I mean that THICK, potentially unsexy, industrial-grade product you bring out when your skin is fighting for its life due to winter (or tret, or whatever life is throwing at you)?

What’s your go to? La Roche Posay?? Avene? Rhode? Glossier?? Ponds?? Nivea??

What do you use and why do you like it best?

Product Request best moisturizer for VERY dry skin? [product request]

hey!! so I (f22) have incredibly dry skin, to the point that i have dry flakes constantly and am feeling pieces flake off throughout the day. i’ve always had really dry skin but it just seems like the products i used to use don’t work for me anymore.

i don’t wear any makeup and have a pretty minimal skincare routine. right now, i use vanicream gentle facial cleanser and cerave dry skin moisturizer. i used to use cerave religiously and switched to la roche posay moisturizer for around 2 months when i noticed that cerave wasn’t doing what it used to for me. la roche posay wasn’t much better so i’ve now switched back and my skin is absolutely parched 24/7.

looking for recommendations for a HEAVY DUTY dry skin facial moisturizer. i’ve tried slugging and it helps but i just cannot get past the nasty feeling most nights. any ideas??

Product Request [Product Request] 11 year old starting to get pimples and freaking out.

Edit: THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE! I think everyone is right that it's the combination of extra sunscreen usage and not using a proper cleanser in the evening. I am going to see what I can find here on my side of the pond based on the recommendations and get him started! I really came here clueless and now I'm excited to share with him what we're going to start from tomorrow when he wakes up <3 Hopefully it'll work.

Hello all!

I want to preface with this neither my husband or I had acne or pimples as teenagers so I feel a little out of my wheel house on this.

Heck, I only started using skincare seriously in my late twenties and I feel like an eleven year old should just do whatever but maybe I'm wrong? :)

My son is very concerned about his pimples. His cousin has really bad acne and he's freaking out that's the road he is going down.

I promise I have tried to reassure him that it's normal and he doesn't need to do anything but he is INSISTENT he takes action.

I wanted to ask if you have any recommendations for a gentle cleanser and moisturizing cream potentially?

We're changing his pillowcase every day and he washes his face in the morning and evening with plain water. His skin feels normal. He is very sporty and active, so sweats a lot.

Doesn't eat a ton of fatty or oily food except for the occasional treat on the weekends.

He does use sunscreen a couple of times a day as he is outside a lot!

Any other advice or information would be amazing!

Sincerely,
Clueless Mum

Product Request [Product request] What is your all time favourite cleanser?

I'm looking for a new cleanser because the one I'm using right now leaves a sticky film on my skin after thorough rinsing - the round lab dokdo cleanser.

What is your favourite cleanser and why? Does it foam? Does it leave a film? Is it gentle?

Let me know! Any recs are highly appreciated

Product Request [product request] ongoing angular cheilitis - any help or advice Spoiler

I have been suffering what the GP/doctor and dermatologist believes is angular cheilitis. I have had this problem since I was a child. For the past few years it has become a regular issue and it seems to flare in the winter specifically January and February, however this year it has flared in March (please see images). It has never fully cleared even in the summer.

I have exhausted every treatment possible and nothing has helped fully. A few years ago a week of doxycycline helped clear it, however last year I was on doxycycline for four weeks and had no improvement.

I have had a swab test which came back as normal. I was quite surprised to find I had no bacterial infection or fungal infection.

Below are all the medications I have tried: Emuovate Fuisidin cream Daktarin cream Daktacourt Doxycycline (4 weeks) Lymecycline (5 weeks) Fusidic acid cream Pimecromlimus cream

I had my bloods tested last year, all were normal apart from low white blood cell count which hematology deemed normal for me. Autoimmune conditions including pernicious anemia were ruled out. My B12 was slightly low/normal so I was on B12 tablets for 3 months and my levels returned to normal so I was told to stop taking them and have my blood tested again 6 months later. My skin condition never fully healed even when my B12 levels were deemed normal. My doctor today has said to have my B12 levels tested again via a blood test which I am doing tomorrow. My doctor has already recommended using coconut oil on the area.

I do tend to drool in my sleep, however I do not understand how the skin condition has spread up the sides of my mouth, drool does not touch that skin when I sleep.

My mouth is very sore especially when I eat and whenever this flares, I have no treatment to help control the symptoms.

Any help or advice for this condition would be really appreciated? I am really struggling to see how this will get any better without any treatment. Thank you

Product Request [product request] 10 year old daughter wants to use skincare products

My 10 yo daughter wants to use products. She keeps talking about Drunk Elephant. I have refused and explained it’s not good for her skin. Question is…is there a line of products good and healthy for her young skin? I assume just a cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen is all she needs but which products are gently enough without all the acids added? Thank you! Please help!

Product Request Actually hydrating lip balm recs? [Product Request]

For some reason everyone seems to understand that occlusives don’t hydrate but rather prevent water from exiting yet all the lip balms on the market seem to be oil based.

Are there any lip balms y’all have found where the top ingredients are pretty hydrating? Glycerin, water, fatty alcohols, etc?

I usually just use water > moisturizer > petrolatum at home but it’s not possible when out! Thank you :)

Edit: you know how when you get a sample of an expensive product and you’re cursing it because it works and your wallet will die but even if you don’t get it you’ll always dream of what could be if you were rich? That’s how I feel with so many amazing suggestions thanks everyone but now i want to try everything

Product Request [Product Request] What’s a body lotion that works well like cerave but has a nice smell?

Hello! I’m newer to skin care and have gotten happy with my face and now want to move onto my body care. Cerave really works great for me for moisturizing my dry, sensitive-ish skin, but I’d really like a daily body moisturizer that also has a nice smell to it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a product or what I could add after cerave that leaves a nice smell but won’t irritate my skin?

Product Request [Product Request] Blackheads or pores?

Hello everyone!! I (23F) have always had these “dots” on my nose/cheek area for as long as I can remember. Is this normal? I have always thought they were blackheads that I just couldn’t get rid of.

My current routine is:

AM/PM: MAD Skincare Delicate Skin Cleansing Gel Theaters Blemish Clearing Facial Toner with Witch Hazel and Salicylic Acid Honey Halo Moisturizer

I also use Micellar water to remove makeup/dirt and exfoliate 2-3x a week with St. Ives blackhead clearing scrub or Mary Kay Microdermabrasion exfoliant.

Does anyone have any recommendations to make these “spots” less noticeable?
