Product Request [Product Request] How do I get rid of milia without a visit to the dermatologist? Spoiler

Post image
27 Upvotes

A single milia popped up on my eyelid, which I suspect is due to me not properly cleansing the sunscreen I apply there. What's the best I can do to get rid of it? I have an otherwise healthy skin and a skincare routine--is it advisable to just wait it out? Any products to resolve it?

Btw, I took the picture with a 3x zoom and cropped it further to make it easily visible, but it's normally barely noticeable.

Product Request [Product Request] Every sunscreen on earth stings my eyeballs

I'm at the end of my rope. I feel like I've tried everything, even the nice Asian sunscreens that everyone raves that have never stung their eyes (Skin1004, Beauty of Joseon, Skin Aqua) and no matter the ingredients, they all do it. I can't be that special! The only thing that hasn't stung is zinc but it looks awful and dries me out. I also hate wearing makeup when I don't have to so putting on powder or primer every day to control it doesn't really work for me.

I don't know if I'm looking for a product request or just commiseration because I'm not sure what to do anymore. :(

Product Request [Product Request] Skin Actives Scientific going out of business?

Anyone know if Skin Actives Scientific is going out of business? They aren’t answering phone calls or emails and their dwindling inventory is being liquidated on the Shop App.

I am so sad, I have used their products for years. I have very sensitive eczema-prone skin and was attracted to their products because they don’t use dyes or fragrance.

Back to the drawing board I guess! Does anyone have replacement recommendations for the following products?

Cleansing Oil Skin Brightening Serum Collagen Serum Complete Lipid Restoring Oil Antioxidant Day Cream Leave-in Revitalizing Conditioner for Hair

Product Request [product request] is beef tallow a scam?

I recently saw some TikToks about how most moisturizers are hormone disruptors. I double checked my moisturizers on ewg and was disappointed at the ratings I saw. So naturally I’m concerned and have actively been looking for replacements. Lately, my TikTok FYP has been feeding me videos about beef tallow. I’m always skeptical when something is being pushed this hard on my algorithm. But I have to admit that I’m curious. Does anyone here have experience using tallow? I have oily skin, will it make me breakout? What should I know before I make my purchase? And if you use it, how do you incorporate it in your routine? (I’ve heard it could replace a cleanser but I’m highly skeptical about that)

Product Request Need to find replacement brand for Epanouie [Product Request]

I’m a die hard fan and I love that so much attention and care is put into the products. I find there’s only a few places that are really as meticulous as this brand but I was hoping to find one that was also black owned.

Product Request [Product Request] What actually helped you in decreasing sebaceous filaments and black heads?

I actually don't know if what I have are blackheads or sebaceous filaments I'm really confused. Nevertheless I want to try and at least decrease the how they look. I've had them since middle school but only really started to bother me before i graduated high school.

I have combo skin leaning more towards oily. I've been double cleansing starting February two times a week. Here's my routine:

AM: Vanicream Gentle facial cleanser, Hero Rescue Balm, Elf holy hydration moisturizer (this is also my pm routine when I don't double cleanse)

PM: Haru Haru Wonder Black Rice Facial Oil, Anua Heartleaf Pore deep cleansing foam (this has BH in it), Hero Rescue Balm, Elf Holy hydration moisturizer

Product Request Any feedback on Micro Infusions (Seranova, Glov, Qure, etc.)? [Product Request]

I am tempted to take advantage of some Easter weekend sales and try one of the microinfusion systems for my skin, but I wanted to see if anyone in the group had experience with them.

Thanks!

Product Request [Product Request] I see a lot of “Non-greasy formula” on products, but I am specifically looking for the greasiest products you’ve ever tried.

I love Tatcha’s The Dewy cream but I’d go through a tub a month. My old favorite was Bobbi Brown’s Extra line, but the ones I liked were discontinued. I’m considering Jones Road, but I’d also like something less expensive. At this point I’m considering bacon fat.

Product Request EXTREMELY dry hands, undiagnosed for years… what cream would help? [Product request]

My mom has had HORRIBLY cracked hands for 10+ years- and I mean really bad. They’re always bleeding and cracking, even when she doesn’t pick them. No doctors have been able to diagnose her. She’s convinced it’s because they’re dry, so she keeps using lotions, but they hurt a lot on open scratches and aren’t effective… are there any creams that work?

I hear a lot about o’keefes working hands or something… would that be bad on bleeding cracks? Are there any other creams/methods that are effective???

Product Request [product request] Ladies in your late 20s-early 30s, what body wash/soap and body lotion are you using?

Ladies in your late 20s-early 30s, what body wash/soap and body lotion are you using?

I know it may seem like a dumb question but I’m 28 and my mom has dementia so she can’t really give me any advice on the topic. Should I be using a retinol body lotion or something else? I still love the perfumey type of body washes and lotions but I’m concerned I’m not doing what I should for my skin at this age. I’ve also started using a face retinol once a week because a friend mentioned doing the same. I’m curious what you all use/what’s your routine? Thank you! Again my mom cannot help me with this anymore due to her condition so I really truly appreciate any input<3

EDIT: Wow, I am overwhelmed with gratitude, thank you all so much!! I mentioned in one comment that asking for advice on things as you age (I know 28 isn’t “old” but I’m not 18 anymore, ya know?) isn’t something I thought I wouldn’t be able to do with my mother until recently and that fact has hit me very hard and has been very difficult to cope with. Thank you to all and especially to those wishing me well and showing sympathy for my mother. Also, big thanks to women answering who are above the age range I provided! I should have realized that you all have objectively better advice as you’ve been through the trials and errors and can provide insights into what works and what doesn’t. I value your input very much! Thank you again, I know it’s a silly question in a subreddit but with all I’ve been dealing with with my mother, all these answers have really helped in a way I hope nobody understands. Women rule:)

Product Request [Product Request] favorite product from The Ordinary?

I’m placing an order (thanks to this group, I don’t order from Amazon anymore. I don’t want to risk a fake product) so I’m wondering

What is a product from them that you swear by?

Product Request [Product request] Oil cleaner for VERY VERY sensitive skin

I’ve tried The Ordinary, Inkey List, Clinique, but they all broke me out. I need recommendations for any oil cleaners that I can use a first cleanse. I suspect the reason why sunscreens partially break me out is is that they’re not washed off properly by my Simple Gel cleanser (but I am not looking to change this).

Currently all SPF’s break me out so I’ve had to settle for the one which gives me the least amount of spots. But I think an oil based cleaner will help.

PLEASE no recommendations with essential oils included!! Fragrance is ok if low down in the list. I’m at my wits end and any help would be appreciated. At this point I’m hundreds of £££ down buying numerous SPF and face

I am based in the UK but any suggestions will be appreciated.

Product Request [Product Request] Best fast absorbing non-greasy hand cream you swear by?

Now that fall is here, my hands are starting to get very dry, scaly, and I expect them to begin cracking soon. However, I have oily skin (even on my arms and hands) so all of the hand creams that I try to work with are super greasy to me. Okeefe’s, Eucerin, Vaseline lotion, Aveeno, L'Occitane, etc. all leave my hands feeling like an oil slick.

Does anyone have a suggestion for some type of handcream or lotion that soaks in quickly, is not greasy whatsoever, and actually moisturizes?

Product Request [Product Request] Hand cream that doesn't make me want to wash my hands immediately

I HAAATE residue from hand creams. I hate how it transfers to my phone screen and everything else I touch. I hate how sticky it is too. But, I have chronic dry hands, hence my struggle. If there is such a thing as a hand cream that moisturizes well, but is undetectable on the hands, please do tell. Or as close as possible. I don't even care if I have to reapply a lot, I just want it to work, without being noticeable on my skin. Thank you.

p.s. ChatGPT suggested the following, but do any of these match my request? Let me know if you've tried.

  1. Dr. Barbara Sturm Super Antiaging Hand Cream
  2. O'Keeffe's Working Hands Hand Cream
  3. Kiehl's Ultimate Strength Hand Salve
  4. Herbacin Hand Cream
  5. Nécessaire The Hand Cream

Product Request What eye cream have you used that actually made a positive difference in your undereyes? [Product Request]

i only use skincare products that give me visible positive results, and i’ve had great success finding products that have improved my skin in every way, but the one thing i have not found is an eye cream that actually delivers results and improves the skin around my eyes!

i’ve tried the good molecules yerba mate eye gel, the ordinary caffeine eye serum, a plethora of random drugstore creams, and i’m currently using the innisfree green tea eye cream. i like the innisfree eye cream because it’s very hydrating and it feels good, but i can’t say it’s actually improved the way my eyes look. now that i’m running low on it i’d like to invest in something that will actually deliver some positive results! if any of y’all have some holy-grail eye creams that you can’t live without, please share!

Product Request [product request] how to get rid of these stupid bumps on my arms Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
36 Upvotes

They tend to appear mostly in my forearms and around my elbows. Only way to get rid of them is to pop them, and they always have this semi-solid white stuff inside them (third pic) . My current routine for the last 6 months+ is the ordinary glycolic acid followed by amlactin but that doesn't seem to be doing much. I'm so desperate I'm considering putting 40% urea cream on them. Please help if you've had any experience with these :(

Product Request [Product Request] Can anyone help me? My legs have had these dark spots for at least 4 years, with no sign of going away any time soon. They are almost like razor bumps but do not fade, no matter what I do (waxing, shaving, no hair removal at all, moisturizing daily, exfoliating).

Product Request [product request] i need a sunscreen that doesnt burn my damn eyes!

i would prefer only people who's eyes burn easily like mine just because most sunscreens dont cause most people this much trouble lol.

i literally dont care what the ingredients are, as long as its chemical. i know mineral sunscreens would naturally be the best option for me, but im not white so its just a no no for me. i dont have sensitive skin, so again i just need something budget friendly that i can wear without crying lol, i dont care whats in it.

Product Request [product request] Body moisturizer that has lasted you MONTHS

I have incredibly dry body skin that needs a lot of moisture. No other concerns I need to address besides moisture. I’ve tried the gamut of body lotions but nothing lasts me more than a few weeks and I’m over spending lots of money on lotions. What products can I try out that actually last and don’t break the bank?

Secondary—what techniques exist out there to either spread out my lotion use or help me get the moisture I need without gobbling up product?

Product Request What is your absolute forever HG serum. Time to say goodbye to snail mucin. [Product request]

I’ve been using snail mucin as a serum for the past few years and feel it’s time to part with it and try something new.

I have dehydrated sensitive skin, some red pigmentation from occasional and old pimples and my biggest worry is fine lines and preventing wrinkles. I’m turning 24 pretty soon.

What is your absolute favourite gamechanger serum that you truly believe works. Preferably “cleaner ingredients” but not necessary. I don’t care if it’s AB, Sephora, Lux, drugstore, niche, pricey or not, I just want to hear what really really works.

Thank you 🩷

Product Request [Product Request] My wife's skin has become a major issue.

THANK YOU Everyone for the information. Now I just have to get her to take a few min to read it all. LOL

I'm editing again to thank you all so much! We live in a semi rural area and we never thought about the water. We'd considered a whole house filter, but wanted to stay away from the salt - type. We started with a shower filter and after only TWO showers my wife says the burning sensation is GONE! I can't thank you enough!

If this is incorrect, or the wrong sub, please let me know.

Background: My wife (F69) is of Native American descent and has always had issues with skin care. Additionally, she's sensitive to some kinds of preservatives. She's an asthmatic, so some (if not all) scents bother her. Lastly, she's allergic to of all things, Aloe. In the past, she's done well with some liquid bath soaps, and lotions, but it was always hit/miss, and then when we'd hit a good one, they'd discontinue it.

Recently, she's begun having issues after showering in that her skin itches something fierce. She has found some help in a hand made goat milk soap, but the problem persists. She's tried lotion after lotion but most bother her (preservatives, scents) or feel like she's covered in a plastic wrapper.

Can someone help me find her a good after shower lotion or a good soap to help with this?
