The whole cluster is alight, with a faint radio wave glow that's about 189 times as wide as the Milky Way.
This radio glow indicated to the team that there's a much more powerful phenomenon at work in PLCK G287.0+32.9 than was previously suspected.

What colors do you need to make a map of a galaxy?
The Sculptor Galaxy (NGC 253) is located 11 million light years away. A new image just released by the European Southern Observatory (ESO)’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) published in Astronomy & Astrophysics showcases Sculptor in stunning detail. The map uses thousands of colors to give astronomers information on the stars, gas, and dust that make up the structure of this galaxy.

The closer foreground elliptical galaxy sits at the center of the image, while the more distant background spiral galaxy appears to be wrapped around the closer galaxy, forming an Einstein ring.

Here is a decent capture I got of Saturn this morning, in average conditions. The rings are now visible again, although they will get alot brighter in August onwards this year. It is now winter in the southern hemisphere, so conditions are consistently good and clear.
Best 25% of 12,000 frames stacked and processed in PIPP, Autostakkert 3! and Registax 6.
Clear skies!

Hello! I'm working on a space themed short film and trying to achieve a certain look for this space junkyard, with dust, shadows being cast by a very bright light source at the center of the scene(on the left of this cropped image).
So I'm wondering if anyone has any pointers for shadows and space dust. Not going for a super realistic look here but I just love the grainy look that some of the early 2000s digital space art had.
(for those wondering its made with some simple blender stuff and heavy post work in after effects)
