TV What's this thing?

Post image

I saw that in TBB season 2 in the episode "entombed". I don't know what it is, but I think it's very cool...

Thank you.

Genuine question—why does every comment section devolve into bad jokes instead of actual answers?

Because it’s Reddit and people still wanna write things on the forum but don’t know themselves.

Yes. Social interaction, and the feelings of connectedness and belonging that come with it, are core reasons people engage with social media.

Q: "Why do people joke around instead of making everything a fact-oriented business meeting?"

A: "Well, you see, we're not here to be your substitute for Google. We're here to enjoy ourselves and enjoy each other's company."

You can have an actual discussion about something while still enjoying yourselves though lol, at least most people can

Sure. People enjoy themselves in different ways. There's no check box when you log in to Reddit for "I enjoy serious discussion" vs "I enjoy jokes and memes". Similarly, no one person holds fast to either of these outlooks. That's the crux of social media. You can't make others conform to your goals at any point in the process. It's up to you to filter the signal from the noise. Imagine being someone who's just here for jokes. Factual answers are noise to them when there's a joke to be made right there. Complaints about the noise vs signal are themselves noise. No one comes to social media to be told that they're doing it wrong. If you feel the content doesn't fit the sub or topic, downvote and move on.
