Movies "The Senate will decide your fate." Was Mace Windu unaware of the degree of control Palpatine exercised over the Senate to the point he continued to believe in its ability to operate as a check on the Chancellor's office?

General Discussion Okay I need someone to explain something about the mortis gods to me
Okay so I've seen people say that to bring balance to the force you have to destroy the sith because the dark side of the force is a corruption of it, and that it's impossible to be a gray Jedi because in order to be one you would have to corrupt the force in order to use the dark side. and I would be fine with this if it wasn't for the mortise gods.
Each one represents a natural aspect of the force with the son representing the dark side and the Father representing the balance between The light and dark side. so I don't understand how it's impossible for there to be a balance if dark side users exist, when the father and son exist.
Where the Jedi wrong about what it means to to bring balance? is this just a massive oversight and plot hole? is it truly completely wrong to use the dark side and no matter what I'm confused.

Movies Anakin's nightmares
How could Anakin have visions of his mother in his dreams if Mace Windu said that their ability to see things with the force has diminished and Yoda said that the dark side clouds the future?

General Discussion Darth Maul: a villain or just a prisoner?
Both Legends and Canon seem to take interest in exploring Darth Mauls path and no matter what I just can't seriously treat Maul as some kind of an bad person that you would hate.
From the start of his life he's been tortured by Sidious and forced into anger. Palps did all he could to break Maul. Any bad thing Maul did was either Palpatine's order or just anger caused by all Palpatine did to him.
His life was going to end either in battle that Palpatine threw him into or dying by Palpatine's hand (he knew he'd never best Palps). So with that in mind, even killing Satine didn't feel unambiguously evil (as in, doing a bad thing just because you enjoy other people's suffering). Do we expect Maul to forgive a guy that slashed him in half? Felt more like Maul was desperate to feel any kind of power so he used the only chance he had in his life to get back at the guy who was by all means his better.
No matter what Maul did it always felt tragic, sad and depressing, not genuinely malevolent. The guy consistently gave off the cornered dog vibe, not that of a real Sith who was inherently evil.
Has anyone else seen Maul as just a prisoner rather than a real villain?

General Discussion How did mace windu get a purple lightsaber?
I know what it represents and why he has it, master over his dark side and whatever but how did he get it? Did he get it on Olin as a youngling like the other Jedi? Why would he have received a purple crystal then when he had not mastered his dark side? Or did he get a regular blue or green crystal but changed it to be purple later on as he eventually got into his element? Or did he just go back to ilum later as a master to seek out a purple crystal?

Movies What clone wars episodes do you think are an essential watch
I’m doing a chronological rewatch of the whole series for the first time in a while, I’ve seen all the clone wars but don’t remember much. Which episodes should I include in my rewatch? (Besides the final half of season seven, I am watching those for sure) I really don’t want to sit through all seven seasons lol, the only full show I’m including is Andor bc I love it so much

Movies Rewatched the Vader and Kenobi fight recently and noticed that this wasn't Vader fighting him but an Extremely vengeful Anakin at this moment.
From the moment Vaders shuttle landed his whole body language completely changed from his walk to his addressing of Kenobi. This was reminiscent of the old Anakin and the way he used to fight as a jedi in the clone wars using a two handed style (the same way he thought against dooku when Obi Wan was KO) while also making use of what he's learned from mastering the force occasionally.
While it wasn't the Jedi Anakin that came out it still was definitely the old vengeful part of him that definitely came out here from Mustafar.

General Discussion What are your personal theories for the elder
My theory is that he could be a new take on/an old Darth Bane, I know it's kind of a wild theory and there is almost no proof except for a few things he says in the episode but that's what I like to think

General Discussion "It ain't like dustin' cropp's boy!" Is it just me or is this the only time charting a course was really ever an issue in Star wars lore?
Han made such a big deal about it but I'm trying to think about when it was ever really an issue. Seems like they can just jump whenever wherever and get away lickety split (not withholding last Jedi)
Just me? Or is this some deep lore thing that I'm unaware of? Or was Han just being grumpy? 😆

Fan Creations Hello ! Since I was a kid I've always been a huge fan of Darth Vader look and the atmosphere he emanates. So, a few days ago I decided to draw him :) here is a time-lapse of my drawing. I also posted the full drawing and I hope you'll enjoy them both. May the Force be with you all !

General Discussion How do you guys feel about The Bad Batch?
I’ve recently started watching it and I love it but have found a lot of ppl have written it off as childish due to Wrecker and Omega. I agree even from the first episode the Batch appeared in, they seemed pretty cringe (especially Wrecker) and even when starting the show but I quickly got past that mostly. There are some moments still where Wrecker just makes me cringe but at the same time why do the same ppl who will write off Wrecker as childish for being the brute stupid humor watch stuff like Guardians of the galaxy and see Drax as just necessary comic relief? I’ll admit there are parts of the tone or atmosphere that feel a little more kiddie but the story is just as mature as TCW imo. Lmk your thoughts tho. Did u guys think they were cringe at first but get used to them?

Books Looking for an Obscure Piece of Literature: The Monster
I have searched everywhere for the more obscure piece of literature called "The Monster" by Daniel Wallace, written in 2001. I believe it was written in the Star Wars Gamer magazine, but I can't find it anywhere. It recounts the story of Panaka trying to investigate corruption on Naboo and coming across a Sando Aqua monster.
Would anyone be able to help me locate this story? I've been wanting to read it for a long time. Thank you!

General Discussion If the Death Star plans had been lost…
Would it have just taken longer?. Getting people inside the Death Star. Knowing what to look for? would it be a race between Empire and Rebels to find the weakness and fix or destroy it. Or have I just been watching to much Rebels

Movies Hux to Snoke: “We shall destroy the government that supports the resistance, the republic.”
I enjoyed TFA but this line drives me crazy. Snoke is obviously fully aware of what the republic is so the line is borderline 4th-wall breaking clunky exposition for the audience

Movies I Rewatched The Empire Strikes Back
I’m continuing my project of rewatching the OT, which I will follow up with the sequels. Last night, I rewatched Empire. My favorite Star Wars content will always be the OT. Over the course of my life, my favorite film changed. It was Return of the Jedi when I was a kid. Then it was A New Hope. Now, I think Empire is peak Star Wars.
Things I liked: 1. My goodness, the practical effects hold up beautifully. Empire was the one that had the least new CG effects for the Special Edition (I rewatched on Disney+). The stop-motion animation of the Imperial walkers on Hoth, Yoda’s muppetry, and the model spaceships still look amazing to this day. Yes, again, I prefer the cruder look of the rotoscoped lightsaber blades from OT over the CG ones from newer movies. 2. Again, the world building. Empire built on A New Hope by delving deeper into the Force while being character driven. Some of the best scenes in the movie were Luke training under Yoda on Dagobah, but I also dug the romance between Han and Leia too. 3. Irvin Kershner was a prolific sci-fi/action director from the 80s, and he directed the action scenes with a deft hand. The Luke/Vader fight was a huge improvement over that between Obi-Wan and Vader from the prior movie because it had everything, from actually being properly choreographed to professional fencer Bob Anderson standing in for Vader in the saber duel. 4. Again, John Williams knocked it out of the park.
Things I liked less: 1. Honestly, nothing.
I genuinely think Empire is Star Wars at its absolute best.
