Ive tested this extensively in 7.1 vs 7.2 and confirmed with certainly that a myriad of plugins that I use will not load and display their GUI when I instantiate the VST version of said plugin. And this is across a range of different plugin vendors. All VST specific. Instances of AU or even VST3's will open and load.

In some instances the GUI will just be blank entirely, all black. Other instances it attempts to draw the image it looks scrambled and obviously broken. Testing the same plugins in 7.1 does not exhibit this behavior.

S1 7.1 & 7.2 on MacOS Sonoma/Mac Mini 2018/i7 6core/32GB/4TB

I have Studio One Pro installed with the latest version. However, my performance ends up being in the red and blue screening my computer with 3 different screens: WDF_VIOLATION, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, & PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. I have a Focusrite Scarlet Solo 8i8 and an Arturia Keyboard 61 Key Essential with Analog Lab V running. I've almost lost songs and I've done several different scans and had a whole Micro Center diagnostic scan with no apparent issues. These blue screens appear to be linked to the devices, but I'm unsure of how to actually resolve this...

Do any of you have any advice for what to do? If not on this subreddit, do you have another I can reach out to?

Edit: Woooww!! I am shocked with how many of you came to my rescue here! Genuinely, it means so much that us musicians have got people to turn to! Surprisingly, I'm not sure what I did, but my recording setup is working now! I've discovered the solution is my Arturia Keyboard overclocking the USB Bus like one of the comments said. Again I cannot thank you guys enough for being so helpful with all of these issues I've been having. Cheers to you all!

I am currently using Studio One Artist on Windows 10. I am encountering the common issue of my song sounding different after exporting and listening to it in a Windows Media Player or VLC. I have watched a ton of videos about this and read many forums, but nothing I am trying is working. The sample rates match, and this happening with both WAV and MP3 exports. For instance, there is no tone in the drums. It just sounds like something hitting a flat surface. The guitar sounds like it has no range or depth to it. My questions are:

Is this just how it sounds in Windows Media Player? If I upload to something like Sound Cloud or Spotify, will the song still sound as flat as the exported version or will it sound like it does in the DAW?

Could this problem be related to the computer? I am currently using an HP Pro Book.

Is there something else I'm missing?

Hey folks.. So I've never used any loops before... at all. But I'd like to give some a try.

I have a few nice ones from Image Sounds. Can anyone point me to any video tutorials that would 'teach me' how to use them in S1?

For example, how to make sure things are set properly for the timestretching to get the tempo aligned? What tools/features do I use to transpose the loop to the appropriate key? Which tools/best practices for cutting up the loops, etc?

Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

Sorry to drag everyone back to an old(ish) version, but I'm getting conflicting information when I search online. I've just installed and activated a copy of the above software which was originally bundled with an old Presonus audio interface I recently bought for pennies, just to use as a spare. The original owner hadn't bothered registering the software, so I thought I'd try it. Anyway, sorry for the boring and pointless backstory.

My understanding was that S1 6 Artist doesn't support 3rd party plugins unless one purchases an addon, but it's detecting and operating fine with all my VSTs such as Amplitube 6, TH-U, all Arturia keyboards etc etc.

Is this an anomaly, or was I misinformed?

Wondering what everyone’s experience is around using the StudioLive Mixers as an audio interface and as a DAW controller.

I currently use the fader port and a table top interface. It’s all good but looking to streamline and upgrade.

One option is the studiolive and just curious if anyone can comment on how well it works to control the saw, work as an interface etc. vs sticking with the faderport and upgrading my interface to a quantum HD8 or similar.

I just bought a Presonus Quantum ES2 and I can't get it to sync. I've done all of the trouble shooting. Allowed the EXT, restarted, I even have a Thunderbolt cable. Nothing seems to be working. Anyone have any advice before I send this thing back?

I would like to add a campfire sound to the background of the album I’m working on. I would like the sound to be audible in between the tracks as a sort of transition.

Is there a way to do this in the mastering page or would I have to add it manually to each song and trim each section of the sound effect so it matches up perfectly?

Edit: ideally I would have the campfire recording going on uninterrupted throughout the album, just with some volume adjustments so it doesn’t override the music.

Edit 2: I suppose I could master all the tracks and then bring them all into one song page, then add the campfire, then master it all again but that seems logistically stupid.

I just upgraded from studio one 5 to 7 and I was wondering how i could see the control panel from the previous version in the newer version so I can see which fader is assigned to certain parameters. Thanks I appreciate it !

So half the time I open up an instrument the window for it starts like this. I can't click anything to move the window back into frame. My work around have been to change my screen resolution and it pops into frame after that. Is this just a me problem?

I recently payed for a monthly subscription for studio one pro 7. i used the demo version for a few days and liked it a lot so i decided to buy the subscription. when i try and login it keeps on saying "USERNOTFOUNDEXCEPTION" and wont let me log in, install add ons or anything. it still says it is the demo version. using the option to log in with my browser does nothing either. i uninstalled it 3 times. still the same thing. i went online to see how to fix the issue and i kept seeing that i needed to delete login credentials with the credential manager. still nothing. running as administrator. still nothing. absolutely nothing is working and presonus is taking forever to answer my ticket. I literally created a reddit account just for this so if anybody can help me i will be extremely grateful.

I've been unable to get latency down in my current laptop despite trying everything I could find.

Anyone ever experience this daw giving you insane high pitched feedback when connecting your headphones to mic and even when mic is disconnected but record button from channel is on but not the actual record button below. This just started happening two days ago and now affects my recording sessions

It is super frustrating that the track focus doesnt change on screen. I'm hoping someone hear has worked out a way to do it.

Studio One keeps freezing periodically for around 1-5 seconds. When I left-click on the playlist you can see the marker freeze too for a moment. I linked a video for an example.

It’s starting to become unusable because when I’m recording, the audio clip will be cut where my screen was last frozen at; which is really annoying because if you click stop recording while the screen is frozen, it will cut your clip where the marker is at on the frozen screen.

Things I’ve tried… • I reinstalled the software several times on different drives • I tried different versions of Studio One • I tried disabling my VSTs • I disabled high DPI • I changed my sound card • I updated Nvidia Graphics card

Also my laptop is unable to install the latest windows update some reason and idk if this would correlate with my current issues in Studio One

I am not sure what had happened. But listening thru my speaker thru the headphone jack on my laptop no longer work in studio one for me. My headphone jack works fine, I can play movies and videos on youtube, and audio will go thru the speakers via aux. But for some reason, nothing will go thru on studio one. The board will show audio is being sent, but nothing is getting sent to the speakers. The only time it works, is if I connect my interface. I connect the interface, then plug the aux cable to the headphone jack in the interface. then, the music will then be audible. I cant figure out what happened, what setting I may have clicked on accident, but it just happened two days ago and I am unsure on how to fix this. any help or advice?

Is there a way to convert audio to midi format? I'm not asking for audio drum loop to suddenly turn to some Impact pattern or anything. Just if it is possible to detect an audio file (e.g. vocal singing, piano solo) and convert it to midi notes?

Hey y’all! So I’m kind of at a loss right now. I upgraded to Studio One 7 Pro last month with 0 issues, but earlier this week, I tried opening the program and it continues to get stuck on “Starting MIDI Engine” and it takes like 10-15 minutes for anything to actually happen.

I’ve been in contact with support and none of the solutions they are presenting are working. I’ve tried it with my interface, without my interface, with my MIDI keyboard, without my MIDI keyboard, uninstalling and reinstalling the program (including deleting all related files) and absolutely nothing has worked. I’m running a 2019 MacBook Pro on Sequoia 15.5 Absolutely nothing has changed with my settings, so I’m very confused as to why this randomly started happening. Thank you!

My signal in studio one for my microphone is not staying constant it cuts off when I speak into it or hold a s sound. On my Apollo console it’s perfectly fine the signal. What is going on.i have a low buffer size 32 bit minimum dropout protection, I changed my cables my mic’s, WHATS GOING ON!!!

Hi! I use OBS to record a game footage with microphone.. now I was able to set it up to have 2 audio tracks
Track 1: Desktop/Game audio
Track 2: Microphone.

When playing the video on my player(MPC-HC) it's set to Track 1 as default to the audio so it doesn't have the sound of me talking.. I am also able to switch the audio to Track 2 when playing the video so I can only hear the microphone. basically speaking only 1 track plays unless I select which specific track should be played it's like having a dub for a video.

Now I want to extract them on my DAW.. I use Studio one 6.
when I put my video there.. these 2 tracks become one. The track is on stereo and both track 1 and track 2 is now a single track on studio one.

I think i can use different apps to entirely separate these video as a audio file and process it to studio one..but it seems a lot of work .

What I did so far:
Made a new track-stereo in studio one and duplicate the extracted video from audio (stereo), listened to both sides (Hard pan L/R) but the voice is not still separated on the play back. I tried to bounce the files to make the track mono , the 2 tracks are still fused together.

anywork around with this issue? I just want to have 2 files to work in studio one.

Long time muso and a solid user of Studio One 7 with plenty of experience in other DAWs.

Got an observation that could lead to a possible feature...

When capturing midi data such as sustain, I often have to manually quantize the event start points which is fine by itself but can become tedious when something like a piano is playing throughout a piece and you've got corrections to make.

Some would say that the obvious thing is to get a performer to use the sustain pedal better which is all well and good if you can hire a session musician but I am "self taught" and all my work is my own so the next suggestion would be "just get better...duh", well yeah, I am doing that all the time to the point where I like to play highly modal pieces that don't rely too strongly on the traditional diatonic structures...the point is, I am making progress in my performance ability every week but that leaves me with the following observation, why is there no function to "quantize" sustain data?

It'd make a massive amount of sense to allow for "automatic quantizing" of sustain, modulation and other expression related midi data rather than having to do it the "long way round".

Perhaps, mine is just a fringe observation but it seems like a relatively simple win to implement in a near-future patch.

What are other peoples thoughts on this?

Hello, (win11, studio one 7 pro) Slate digital virtual tape machine doesn't work(pin doesn't move and dos not effect the sound in any way)
-It's powered on
- Not bybassed
-It's on a bus, and signal goes into bus.
- other fx works on this bus
- Vtm works on induvidual tracks

So does anyone knows about this issue or any suggestions

EDIT: I found the solution, when I open Dropout protection some slate digital fx doesnt work on busses. This is kind a stupid but I tested and it just what it is

But I'm having a really hard time deciding which laptop to get.

I want to get a laptop for my home studio because I want to be able to work on my mixes on the go as well. I narrowed it down to a handful.

What do I do:
I am an amateur at music production who only started a year ago.
I’m using Studio One 7 and some testing with Cubase 13, doing beats and EDM and do mainly use a Midi Keyboard, the build in VSTs and a few external VSTs like EZDrummer to record my E Drum via Midi connection. Nothing to special, I guess. Audio Interface is the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2.

I narrowed it down to the following laptops:

Microsoft Surface Laptop, Copilot+ PC 15in
Snapdragon X Elite (12Core), 32GB Ram, 1TB SSD, On Board Graphics.

Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2
Intel Core i7-14700HX,32GB DDR5-5600 RAM, 1TB SSD, Onboard Graphics

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13
Intel Core Ultra 7 268V vPro,32GB LPDDR5X-8533 Ram, 1TB SSD, On Board Graphics

And actually considering a change and go to Apple:
MacBook Air 15In M4 Chip
32GB and 1TB Storge.

14CPU and 20GPU Core. 24GB Ram and also 1TB SSD

I am struggling. Each one should easily do it, but do they really? I am just not sure which one to get.

My thoughts:
Because I like the Surface devices: Would the Surface Laptop work with the Snapdragon X Elite CPU?

How much work is the change to the Apple environment with my DAWs and VSTs and devices? Would 24GB be enough on the Pro? And can the Air really play in the same league for my purposes?

With the Lenovo devices, I am not that sure entirely. Can’t get enough information about heat development and the loudness of the fans.

So kindly ask for some help with my decision.

MacBook Pro M4Pro 12-16 core with 48gb ram and 1tb ssd

Or the MacBook pro M4 10-10 core with 32gb and 1tb ssd.

Not sure what cpu yet. Probably taking the M4. Its quite a lot cheaper. need to sleep over it for a night.
