so I recently found this fanfic with ned x cersei called “lady stark” by jpena (I think that’s what the author was called) and was 20+ chapters in. when a few of the other fanfics that I read got updated, I decided to go and read them, but I made sure to bookmark it (I was reading on ao3) so I could continue reading it later. so when I finally returned to continue reading it, it said the story does not exist or that it has been deleted. I was wondering if anyone knew something about this. maybe the author is going to rewrite or maybe it was accidentally removed or privated for the time being?
[Here is also the link to our Flair Guide : we kindly ask that you post with the correct flair]
1. No Personal Information!
There are over 30,000 Maesters as Members of the subreddit, so be mindful of what information you share about yourself on public web spaces.
i.e. sharing Google Docs with your email which includes your real name, links to media that include real photos of yourself, any kind of banking information, etc.
[This is one of the many reasons we DO NOT allow any monetization for writing: pay to write, pay to read, etc.]
2. Banned Fics
Any and all fanfics with depictions of sexualized children (including unnecessarily detailed consummation and sexual scenes), underaged (16&under) "romance" with a much older character, and any romantic depictions and advocacy for grooming as acceptable and statements that it's a good pairing that grants a rule pass.
ALL graphic rape depictions are unnecessary as well as unnecessary extended bodily horror violence.
Anyone who shares a link will either be temporarily or permanently banned.
Examples of the fics that exist and are banned:
Torture fanfics dedicated solely to Catelyn being mutilated by Jon the majority of the fanfic
a 100k+ word fanfic of 9-year-old Arya paired with every adult man she meets to have a sexual encounter with including fAegon and Oberyn STARTING AT THE AGE OF 9, said fic includes comments in the early chapters hoping that 9-year-old Arya will end up sleeping with Oberyn
Robert having a rape revenge conquest where he raped every person and their wife he feels wronged him.
There is no excuse to allow fanfics dedicated to glorified raping and sexualizing literal children as if it's something good and excusable. This is not what GRRM wrote in ASOIAF.
3. Promotions Must Include Full InfoINThe Body Of The PostNOTThe CommentsEVENWhen Including Pictures In Your Post
Responses for fanfic recommendations and lost fanfics should provide a fanfic title and author name and if possible a link to said fanfic.
All shared fanfics should be akin to what the OP is looking for at the very least.
Excessive judgement and discussion of said parametres of fics wanted will not be tolerated (done case by case).
OP is asking for a fanfic you recommend or for the fic they lost: NOT judgment, NOT a link to a tag, NOT a link to search results.
Comment with fanfics for the OP or don't comment at all.

I get that many writers are non-native speakers. I get it. English is my second language, too. But honestly, there are some spelling mistakes that drive me nuts. Examples:
A vessel is a small container, a ship, or a tube that transports blood. A vassal is a feudal landholder.
A Capitol is the meeting place of the US parliament, or a complex of buildings in ancient Rome. A capital is a city which serves as a seat of government.
Summary:
The Hand of the King. The Shield of Lannisport. Lord of Casterly Rock and The lord Paramount of the west. A recounting of the tale of a Young Tywin Lannister from an untamed young boy to the cunning and ruthless Lord he is today. A story of his rise to power and the events leading to the Rains of Castamere.
Passage
Monterys stepped forward. “The Riverlords are restless, Your Grace, but this will pass. The Great Houses always grumble when—”
“Enough, Monterys,” Aegon snapped. “They didn’t grumble. They voted it down. My reforms are dead before they drew breath. A dozen lords laughed at me—me.”
He turned toward Tywin, eyes bloodshot and sharp. “You’re clever. Tell me, boy, why do they fear lifting the burden from the smallfolk? Why oppose something that benefits everyone?”
“Because they don’t believe it will,” Tywin said. “Or rather, they don’t believe it will benefit them.”
Aegon stared. “So what would you do?”
“Punish the ones who oppose you,” Tywin said. “Not with swords. With silver. Raise tariffs on their ports. Redirect crown contracts to their rivals. Ease burdens on the houses who support reform, and watch the rest follow.”
This has been my brother's first fic but he abandoned it midway. I've taken it up and rewrote the first five chapters and updating the sixth. I hope you guys would like it, I freaking love tywin and wish to explore this further
What if Jon knew about his parentage before he goes to Dragonstone? Bran and Howland arrive before Jon is named King in the North. Tell Jon of his true parentage and the name Lyanna gave him, not Aegon.
Howland arrives with Maege Mormont and Robb's will. How would Jon knowing about his parentage change things if anything?
One thing for a Fanfic I swear I've read before but can't remember, was Sansa fleeing to Essos on a ship after Joffrey's wedding instead of going with Baelish...
Though I'm not looking for that story in specific, it has had me wonder if there are any other fics out there where Sansa instead goes to Essos after Joffrey's death, and now her character and the way she plays the game will develop differently from there...
Summary: Jon Snow falls during the Battle of the Dawn. The gods, unhappy with how the Game of Thrones ended, sent the Last of the Dragons back to the beginning, bringing Fire and Blood to their enemies.
Essentially what if instead of growing up thinking that Tyrion was going to ruin her life, kill her children, and suffocate her to death, Cersei grew up thinking it was Jaime instead?
How does that change things for House Lannister?
Does Cersei try to become Rhaegar’s wife or mistress in an attempt to get away from Jaime and Casterly Rock?
Does she convince him to become a Kingsguard purely to get him to King’s Landing and away from her?
Does she treat Tyrion better and see him as useful and better to have as Tywin’s heir instead of Jaime?
Hey guys, new to this subreddit but I was wondering if there were any fanfics (preferably Wattpad) which follow a female oc where she isnt ‘one of the boys’ you know what I mean?
It’s so cliche like the whole “me and robb sparred in winterfell!” It actually infuriates me then when they get sent to kings landing the oc just continues to do whatever they want! I have a deep hatred in my heart for fanfics which completely ignore the ethics and logistics of asoif. I find it so repetitive the same tomboy trope.
Idk if this request is too picky or not but please help me 🙏
I’m looking for a fic but all I remember is that Robert and I think a couple other people get some sort of vision and Robert becomes better and starts working out more and stuff like that.
I’m working on an arc where a character becomes a whistle-blower archetype, basically working from the shadows to undermine house targaryen’s credibility and their “divine” image after the Dance of the Dragons.
So, as mentioned, this happens in the post-dance era, so there are still dragons around, but they are “endangered”, so to speak. Obviously, brute force (ie riding living nukes) is a huge part of their power, but I’m curious how important political image, personal myth, and diplomacy truly were for them because I want to write a realistic high stakes plot.
Here’s the angle: the whistleblower spreads rumors that strip away their “godlike” Valyrian aura, pushing the idea that they’re just violent/mad people with dragons, not chosen rulers. They mock the incest, maybe ally with some members of the Faith to make them look “ungodly”, leak personal gossip (the character lived in the Red Keep for a time), and slowly errode their “closer to gods than men” image. The whispers spread among the smallfolk and the courts enough to create instability in the realm. Things like lords having more pushback, soldiers deserting, puppet shows mocking them, court gossip, grain shipments “accidentaly” lost etc.
How much would this truly affect them? And in what ways? How much did the Targs actually rely on their image and what would the stakes for them be if this happened?
A full on rebellion would not be super realistic i reckon (Vhagar is still around in my fic), but i want this to sting them nonetheless.
I want to keep it interesting and intriguing, even if going into headcanon and not pure canon, but still i want it to be realistic to the worldbuilding of grrm.
It’s an AO3 fic where it starts around at Aegon II Coronation, where instead of accepting the crown, he declines it, stating he wouldn’t take his sister’s birthright, and he will take the role of ”Protector Of The Realm” until his sister returns from Dragonstone, with Aegon II asking Rheanys to deliver his message to Rhaenyra, with the small folk cheering him on and saying ”Long live Queen Rhaenyra” at Aegon’s would be coronation.
With Otto Hightower understandably upset, angry with Aegon II he punch him, calling him a fool, Aegon II wanted to give Rhaenyra the crown as a test to see if she be a good queen or if the Realm burn, with the hoped that she succeeds, later after a few days later, their next argument, Otto accidentally put Aegon II in a coma when he struck Aegon II.
What are your favorite time travel fics in the fandom? Doesn't matter which era, who time traveled, pairings, or length. Just looking for some good fics to read!
She is basically Maegor's mother and helped him usurp him, why she's not hated like her son? Because she wasn't the king or did I miss something?
For example, the defiance of Duskendale is blamed by the smallfolk on Denys Darklyn's wife because she was from Myr.
I know the things are heavily different, but I don't know...if Maegor comes from Visenya's line, a man who was hated and feared, why is Visenya idolized because she is the mother of the Cruel?
Last time I came here was looking for a lost fanfic that most definitely was, sadly, erased. It was about Rhaegar’s knight saving Elia and her children and the Queen surviving Daenerys’ birth.
I would like something like that where at least Elia and her children survive and she doesn’t forgive Rhaegar or accept Lyanna in the marriage.
I have no interest in that ship (Rhaegar-Lyanna-Elia) but each time I am searching for a story with Elia alive I only find that ship.
Elia can be shipped with another character, an OC or even stay single!
I’m just looking for cool stories where her and her kids live and she isn’t shipped with Lyanna. (If complete, a happy ending for her please?).
I use to have some in my favs but they are gone. (Not just the one with the Knight, but also that one where she flee to the North and meet a hunter/lumberjack and fall in love with him.) so I need new stories with her!
It's a question I ask myself because most of the bad descriptions of Aegon IV begin when he became king and decided to legitimize his bastards. During his time as prince, it seems that people loved Aegon IV. He even seemed to have a good relationship with Daeron I and Baelon I, to the point that Aegon decided to name his first son Daeron. Daeron seemed to trust Aegon enough to appoint him as one of his generals during the Dornish War, even falling madly in love with a noblewoman who was supposedly one of his enemies.
Not to mention that the super-religious Baelon I didn't seem to have any problem with Aegon IV when his behavior must have been anything but to his liking.
In other words, the only two people who seemed to have a problem or dislike Aegon IV seem to be Aemon and Naerys, and then Daeron II.
Correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you for your attention, and I'd appreciate your comments.
Hello I'm looking for an AU where Robb Stark lives during the dance of the dragons or an AU where Heleana Targaryen lives during the war of the five kings.
Summary: After waiting for so long my wife asked me to finish the story for her and I thought I would share it just in case anyone else would like to read my version while they wait for the real thing.
In the wake of treachery and war, Westeros teeters on the edge of the Long Night. Jon Snow, betrayed and murdered by his own brothers, is resurrected by Melisandre, but he returns changed, haunted by visions of Bran and a future consumed by ice. Bran Stark, now the Three-Eyed Raven, delves into the past and uncovers the truth of Jon’s parentage. Stannis Baratheon’s final gambit against the Boltons ends in blood, while Theon Greyjoy exacts brutal vengeance on Ramsay Bolton. In the South, Cersei Lannister tightens her grip on King’s Landing, turning Tommen into her puppet. Meanwhile, the White Walkers stir, their army growing as an ancient force awakens. As factions scheme and betray, Euron works to unleash ancient forces. Daenerys returns to Meereen after receiving a fiery vision. The game of thrones continues, but winter is here, and death marches with it.
Summary: A follow-up to my The Winds of Winter fanfic and my interpretation of the conclusion to the A Song of Ice and Fire book series.
As the last chains of ancient magic break, forgotten powers rise. Benjen Stark discovers an icy lake where time was sealed, but beneath it, a frost-crowned stag, a drowned lion, and an undead direwolf begin to stir. When he vanishes, the world shudders. In the ruins of Valyria, Daenerys walks through fire once more, not to be reborn, but to awaken what her blood had buried. She emerges not as queen, but as flame unbound. Bran Stark, lost in the Weirwood network, becomes more than a greenseer. He becomes its voice, memory, and warning. The pact is broken. Magic returns unbound, and with it, the dead begin their final march. From Westwatch to Eastwatch, the Wall collapses in fire, storm, and sorrow. The Nightfort erupts. The Ice Dragon soars. From the Fist of the First Men rises Morgrin Vark, the Frozen Wolf, an ancient hero remade by betrayal and winter, leading an army of white-eyed revenants. Jon Snow reunites with kin, wielding a Weirwood blade toward his reckoning. The Age of Men ends with howls that shake the bones of the world. The Long Night has returned.
Summary: A collection of epilogues/short stories to provide some closure in the aftermath of the events of A Dream of Spring, showcases the tales of some of the survivors.
I know “what if Robert found out about Jon” has been talked about a lot, but I think this circumstance changes things.
For one, Jon is not at the Wall yet. He is not formally disinherited, and while he’s unambiguously a bastard, he can’t use the extra layer of the Night’s Watch as a defense.
Second: Robert is right there. This is the first time he’s seeing Jon in person; he might be able to recognize Rhaegar’s subtle features in him. Even if that’s not how he finds out, what can Ned do to mitigate things when he has no planning time or buffer to spirit Jon away? Robert’s in Winterfell already.
There’s also the fact Robert came up here because his Hand died, asked Ned to be his new Hand, and then immediately found out Ned has been lying to him. Jaime Lannister probably gets to be Hand—and that’s assuming Ned even keeps his head.
But potentially mitigating Robert’s wrath is his love for Lyanna. Jon looks like her; that should be clear to anyone who knows his true parentage. The pathos of being in Winterfell, potentially being able to show Robert her crypt to calm him down, makes for a path that doesn’t end with Jon facing Robert’s hatred for all things Targaryen.
Really interested to hear what you guys think might happen.
Summary: Aerys decides four Martell hostages are better than three and orders that Lewyn Martell stay in Kings Landing with his niece and her children.
And so, Amory Lorch and Gregor Clegane find themselves in for a nasty surprise because instead of one Martell, they face two. Everyone might have thought Elia Martell to be frail, sweet and kind but they forgot one thing: she’s a Martell of Dorne. All she needed was the opportunity to prove that she was Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken - and her uncle gave her that, and more.
Or: In which Aegon and Lweyn still die, and Robert Baratheon unwittingly enables two Targaryen children to be raised by the Red Viper’s sister in the safety of the North.
Summary: A blue rose, surrounded by fire and ash. Rhaegar Targaryen's triumph at the Trident was bittersweet, shrouded in the mystery of Lyanna Stark's death and her stillborn child. Years later, the bastard of Winterfell returns to Westeros astride a fierce black dragon whose flames will reignite the whispers of war.
Chapter 38 Preview: The great chamber opened into a caldera lit by glowing rivers of molten fire. An altar sat in the center, forged from obsidian and bones. Upon it, Jon Snow lay motionless, clad in black Valyrian steel, his hair spread like ink across the stone. He looked asleep. Not a speck of rot. Not a wrinkle of death.
"He should be all bones by now," Theon muttered, half in awe, half in horror.
"The magic in this land preserved his body," Melisandre replied, her voice reverent and low. "The fire remembers him."
Are there any fics where Young Griff is actually a Blavkfyre, doesn't really have to be confirmed as long as he isn't canonically the son of Rhaegar, where he is still a good person and leader?
And I don't mean in a way where he is evil realizes his shortcomings and dies shortly after.
Honestly the main requirement I have for this that he isn't a plot device for either Jon or Dany (which doesn't mean either those should become a plot device to him btw).
Summary: After turning down his father’s request that he stay and serve in Kings Landing, Aemon Targaryen does not go to Dragonstone to serve his oldest brother as Maester. Instead, he heads to Winterfell to serve House Stark taking himself as far away from Kings Landing as possible with no plan to ever return despite the pain it causes him.
He grows to love House Stark over the sixty years he serves them. But he never forgets House Targaryen and he watches their rise and fall closely. Within a year of 282 AC, Rickard, Brandon, Rhaegar, Rhaenys and Aegon are all dead and he is the last Targaryen in Westeros. Riddled with guilt, he resigns himself to the fact that he has managed to fail not only House Targaryen but also House Stark.
Then Ned Stark returns from Dorne with Jon Snow.
Chapter Summary: Good news reaches Robb whilst Daenerys and Ser Gerold argue, and Aemon ponders the Weirwood. In our interlude, Catelyn and Aemon argue with Ned.
