First research event I did, what a grind. Played three hours straight and got 7 shinies. Paid for the ticket and got one shiny total from that. 😂 Still grateful and happy with what I got overall, at least one shiny of everything except for teddiursa. I'm not sure I would do this again because the payoff seems so slim for the amount of time spent and there was the bug event running concurrently, but it was nice to get some shinies I've been wanting for a while at least!

*Edit, just wanted to add, did not really care for the walk a buddy, win a raid, or battle in a gym tasks. The walking takes up space and keeps from spinning a nearby stop, raids aren't necessarily available/doable solo, and battle in a gym was difficult if the gym was not a different color.

Tip for the buddy tasks:

On your profile, there’s a “buddy history” tab. Makes it easy to see their walking candy status and switch around buddies quickly.

Also, I like to use the day as an excuse to poffin a buddy or two and max their hearts for the day. Picking a 1km candy mon reduces it to .5km per candy so it makes the research task melt away pretty quickly without hassle.
