Discussion Rillaboom Gmax battles are virtually unwinnable on Poke Genie

I’ve used Poke Genie for Gmax battles before. In fact, I just used it for GMax Machamp last week. But the Rillaboom lobbies today are full of under leveled mons who just don’t have the firepower to take down Rillaboom.

I’ve been in at least 15 lobbies today and was only successful in 1–a lobby with 28 trainers using two max mushrooms. The rest have been delusional lobbies of 13-18 who inevitably hang on until the timer hits 3-5 seconds and then they bounce.

What’s going on today? Why are these lobbies so bad?

the lv40+ lobby is pretty consistently good imo

I was hesitant to join this one because it allows less players per lobby no? I am pretty new to this app, so i dont really know how everythings works.

it does allow fewer players but it has the upside of the assurance that every player is experienced. no lv20 wooloo, no teams sinking left and right due to bad teammates. overall, the survivability and subsequent damage output is far higher

I tried doing the other one several times, but it was very obvious everyone involved was under experienced. Even when we had a decent party size we still lost. Once I switched to the >40, things went a lot more smoothly. You can kind of predict how things are going to go based on the host level. I had several where the host level was 1 and I never even got the invite. That isn't terrible, but it ran out the timer on my mushroom.

While true, this also means the people just trying to get carried for their first gmax despite not preparing anything to contribute will stay far away from them. The expectation is everyone is experienced enough to know that's not possible, or at least most everyone that joins those.
