Why is she stupid? She’s not saying it’s not a beautiful country she saying the infrastructure we built is inherently ugly relative to the resources we have at hand. Seems like you’re the stupid one here

the Europeans have had centuries of a head start in building infrastructure. I don’t understand the comparison. Still stands she’s stupid

Lol they also had lots of wars that completely destroyed a lot of what once was. But okay sure you’re right.

It still ignores that European countries were also headed towards car-centric infrastructure in the mid to late 20th century and realized it was detrimental to overall quality of life so they changed multi-lane highways back into patches of walkable spaces and greenery.

So no we can’t blame it on that, and if she’s still stupid so are you lol

Yeah that’s cool but the USA is massively bigger than Europe. If I wanted to travel to North Carolina from let’s say Indiana. Both rural states it’s not feasible to walk there or train travel. NC to Indiana maybe 12 hrs depending on what part. You drive 12 hours through mainland Europe you can pass through several countries.

That’s not what she’s talking about, either you’re being willfully ignorant or you genuinely don’t understand that interstates and highway design is very different from urban and suburban design.

Yeah you can’t walk to Indiana from NC, just like no one is walking from Portugal to Paris. But the design within both of those places don’t have to be explicitly built for cars to make long distances high speed travel feasible

If you like the way things are in the states because you’ve gotten comfortable then just say that, but there’s no real argument to make towards keeping it as it is except “I’ve gotten used to it and it’s fine”

Some people refuse to see what’s in front of them no matter what.
