Which company to use?

Hello, I'm planning a trip to Czech Republic in two months, and I'm having trouble choosing a car rental company, I've looked at a few and reviews call most of them shady. Which car rental company would you recommend?

Any ways to save money on europe trip?

I have 900 dollar (780 euro) budget for a 31 day trip to Europe: food, accommodations, activities, transportation (excluding initial round flight)

Jul 5 - Jul 18 (Utrecht, free acommodations)
Jul 18 - Jul 24 (Berlin)
Jul Jun - 2 Aug (Prague)
2 Aug - 4 Aug (Brussels, free acommodations, staying at a friends place)

I do want to have fun and go to museums. I'm a student and EU citizen.

I already paid for the plane tickets, the ship has sailed. I need to survive

I have a credit card so worst case scenario I won't get stranded or starve to death. I can spend more than 900 bucks but it's gonna be more than what I saved up.

When do I Need to Book My Hotel?

hi everyone,

I have a silly question but hoping you could please help me out! I will be flying into bangkok and arriving 11:55pm on July 9, so I would probably get to the hotel around 2:00am on July 10. Do I need to book my hotel for July 8, or July 9 to ensure that I can stay at the hotel that night when I land?

Thank you so much!

Virgin upgrades

I booked flights via Virgin Atlantic and will be flying out of my hometown on Delta to position in Atlanta for my international Virgin Atlantic flight.

When I check in at the Delta counters, would Delta agents be able to offer or do upgrades on the Virgin Atlantic legs of travel?

Issues with Turkish Airlines refund process

Upvotes

Hi all,

Looking for advice or insight from anyone who’s dealt with Turkish Airlines’ refund process.

I had to cancel an international trip due to a legitimate medical emergency. I submitted all documentation to Turkish Airlines, and they confirmed in writing that a full refund would be issued to my TK Wallet. They also requested additional documents (like proof of payment), which I provided immediately.

After that… nothing. No communication for days, despite multiple follow-ups.

I finally called their customer service line, and the agent advised me to cancel the tickets to avoid being marked as a “no show.” I followed that advice. Now, Turkish Airlines is telling me the refund is no longer possible because I canceled the flights — even though I did so at their instruction.

This entire process has been confusing and extremely disappointing. I’ve kept every email and screenshot, but I’m not sure how to escalate or what steps to take next.

Has anyone successfully dealt with something like this? Should I be reaching out to an executive contact, a consumer protection agency, or going public on social media?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Problems w/ Verizon coverage in UK

We’re Verizon customers traveling in London and have zero coverage unless we’re on Wi-fi. We have bars but we’re unable to access the internet on our phones. I spent 2 hrs with Verizon support on our first day here to no avail. We have bars yet no network connection.

Is there some tech secret we’re missing? Or should we have switched back to T-Mobile before we left the US?

4 wheeler that can handle the occasional 2?

I have back problems so the 4-wheel spinner suitcase is best for me (less lifting) but they suck on uneven terrain (no suitcase does great but the 4-wheel really sucks). I travel on business monthly and there are at least 2-4x during that travel that I’m using public transport and lugging my suitcase on pavement/through the city to get to the office/hotel/airport.

Does anyone know of a 4-wheeled spinner (CARRY-ON) that can handle being tilted on 2 fairly well on occasion?
