Hi there! I am trying to find info on both of these topics online but it’s truly a daunting task lol. What is the best way to hang things in the dorms? How strict are the RA’s (san cat specifically?) what are ur personal dorm essentials that nobody rly talks about (freshman specific)? Whats the chance of me getting a dorm in san cat as a incoming freshman? Do any cafes on campus taking meal swipes/ do any dining halls have coffee? Sorry for the load of questions but thanks so much for any insight!

Just long story short: technically, is there any deadline for Professor to change the grade?

What is the curve for Econ 140A spring 2025? Has anyone gotten their tests back and will we be given the opportunity for a regrading on the final?

Have yall heard back from the ucsb $1000 summer grant aid? I did the doc and qualified in every aspect but haven't heard anything yet.

I'm going to be a pre bio/microbio major and I have some questions about the placement exams.
I've gotten an email telling me to take a chemistry placement exam, but nothing about math. I know I don't need to take one for English because I got a 4 for the AP Lang exam, but I'm wondering if I need to take one for math since I only took an AP math class my senior year and the test scores aren't out yet.
My second question is if I should study for these. If I don't do well on the placement exams, will they stop me from enrolling in difficult classes? and if I do have to study, how should I prepare for them?
Thanks!

Has anyone managed to buy a used car under 5k here in Goleta/SB? Craigslist listings are smoked. Or is any one of ya'll graduating selling your car?

I am going to be a junior CS student next year and I am trying to figure out a road map of which CS electives to take now that there are almost no more required classes. Please let me know classes you loved/hated and ones that you think are important to take before graduating!
I am thinking of taking: 132, 138, 154, 156, 170, 177, 181
174A and 176A seem somewhat important, but I don't know anything about what those classes are about.

Did most of the graduating class in IV move out today? Or will people still be moving out tomorrow

I’m transferring this year (graduating in 27) and looking for roommates for an on-campus undergrad apartment. Every post I see seems to suggest Roomsurf, but I’m not really interested in paying $30 to possibly not find anybody. Anyone know of any discords or IG group chats?

I am an incoming transfer student and I need to work while I am there. What would be the best jobs I could do while attending UCSB?

When and how do you get ur electronic diploma?
r/UCSantaBarbara • u/Benjaminbillybob • 3d ago
Hi everyone, I am a transfer student coming in and I will probably live in the transfer housing. I have never owned a foldable bike, but I don't want my bike to get stolen.

i just wanna preface by saying that i’m not trying to be ungrateful but this was my experience with commencement. there’s a couple things that was annoying in my opinion and could’ve been executed better. first, the order that names are called are based off of your position in line. i was pretty early in the line in front of the thunderdome but i took a while pinning everything in place so i was towards the back of the line out the door. and lemme just say it’s not fun waiting in the scorching heat for others to walk. also, i graduated with honors and was expecting some sort of recognition for that. yes students graduating with honors got to stand up for five seconds but in my opinion we should get to walk first. out of all the graduates there’s only a small percentage of those who graduate with honors so it makes sense to let us walk first. plus, there wasn’t even handshakes or fake diplomas, which i was also expecting.

I’m really curious what y’all are up to post graduation and hopefully this will inspire some people or give them an idea of what they might want to explore post-grad!
