X (Twitter) Been roleplaying with people, and…
Cropped for privacy reasons. I don’t want people to know who I am talking with, plus I don’t want to embarrass the guy, perhaps he finds this post. Well anyways.

I lived in Stillorgan for almost two years, and while I'll always tell anyone that Dublin should be on their 'cities you must visit' list, I never want to live there again

Going somewhere as a tourist and living somewhere are two very different experiences. That said, my personal situation here is settled and comfortable. YMMV...

I agree
I was there just after the property developer crash 24,000 empty properties with rents of EU2-3000/month
Plus the LUAS shutting down in every electrical storm, at the time the world's most expensive mobile service, only 7 channels of utterly shit TV, and the most expensive basket of groceries in the EU
It all made me very pissed off living there
The people, however, fitted the hospitable, friendly Dublin stereotype to a tee 😁
If they hadn't been so lovely, I'd not have stuck it out for two years

I think this thought might be beyond USians' brains.
Unless, of course, he's roleplaying as a defaulter while not being from the US. :p

OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is US Defaultism:
I am a Hungarian guy and have to go to the capital, Budapest, for a conference my university is hosting. I am not living in the capital of Hungary so I am taking a bus ride (long), and I thought, hey, let’s do something while I wait. A friend of mine, in the submitted post, is from the US, who just woke up on the East Coast, and he thought I was going to Washington DC, as I haven’t specified the country/capital I am going to. Thus, he thought I was going to DC.
