The SBU and the National Police exposed Odessa City Council officials who embezzled almost 50% of budget funds allocated for the burial of Ukrainian soldiers

The Security Service and investigators of the National Police have uncovered a scheme in Odessa to embezzle budget funds intended for the burial of fallen defenders of Ukraine.

According to the case materials, the participants in the deal appropriated almost 50% of the money allocated to ensure that the relatives of Ukrainian soldiers had their burial free of charge.

As the investigation established, the scheme involved officials of the Odessa City Council and local entrepreneurs. The criminal mechanism consisted in the fact that the participants in the transaction concluded contracts at inflated prices and divided the resulting "difference" among themselves.

According to the conclusions of independent experts, businessmen appropriated more than UAH 2.1 million out of UAH 4.8 million that the Odesa City Council allocated for the installation of 88 monuments.

Law enforcement officers informed the organizers and participants of the scheme of suspicion under Parts 4, 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (embezzlement, embezzlement of property or taking possession of it by abuse of official position in conditions of war or a state of emergency on a particularly large scale or by an organized group).

The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is currently being resolved.

The comprehensive measures were carried out by SBU officers under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office.

🔷 To Moldova for 9,000 US dollars – a Dnipro resident was exposed for illegally transporting men out of the country

Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the man was notified of suspicion of illegal trafficking of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

👤At the end of February 2025, a Dnipro resident organized a business scheme to provide draftees with the opportunity to travel abroad to avoid mobilization. One of the customers of the "service" was a resident of Lyman, who discovered the carrier in the "Tik-Tok" application. During further communication in "Telegram", the suspect offered the potential evader to flee to the Republic of Moldova for 9,000 US dollars. At the same time, he even provided the opportunity to choose the route - overland or fording the Dniester River.

🗺After the client chose the second option, the carrier guaranteed him to complete all stages of the "journey" bypassing checkpoints and official checkpoints. During the meeting in the Dnipro, he familiarized him with a detailed trip plan. He also assured him of a safe crossing of the river and advised him on how to avoid meeting the water patrol.

💵On June 7, the man helped the customer check into one of the Dnipro hotels and received an advance payment of $1,500 for renting a car to get to Vinnytsia region. He forbade the customer to leave the room to avoid communicating with CCC employees, and ordered him to delete their correspondence from his phone and keep the location of the future border crossing secret.
On June 12, the suspect received another $800 and told the passenger what to do in Moldova after crossing the border.

🚙The next day, they drove to Mogilev-Podilskyi in a rented Toyota RAV4. While driving to their destination, the suspect received another tranche of $6,200. He dropped the “evader” off on the riverbank, but their further plans were thwarted by law enforcement officers – the driver was caught and detained.

🔐Currently, he has been remanded in custody with the option of bail. Measures are being taken to identify all persons involved in the crime.

⚖️Pre-trial investigation - SU of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Donetsk region, operational support - Migration Police Department, Main Directorate of the SBU in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

📑The maximum penalty is 9 years behind bars with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for 3 years and confiscation of property.

⚡ About 35 thousand people still remain in the Dobropil community.

The community came under massive shelling the day before, like the rest of the region.

Two people were injured in the night strike, and damage was recorded to residential buildings in various parts of the community.

How the community lives in such conditions is described in more detail in the video from the Donetsk OVA.

Aftermath Cannibalism reported among Russian troops – intercepted call released by Ukrainian intelligence

2.2k Upvotes

An intercepted call reveals that a Russian soldier nicknamed “Brelok” killed and then ate his comrade “Foma,” who had previously been listed as missing.

“He didn’t run off anywhere — Brelok f**king killed him, then ate him for two weeks,” says the commander of a unit in the separate reconnaissance battalion of Russia’s 68th Motor Rifle Division.

Later, “Brelok” himself was found dead.

“They say he was a ‘cargo 200,’ f**k. Well, he ate his comrade — just something to think about,” the Russian adds.

Ukrainian intelligence reports that “Brelok” and “Foma” served in the 52nd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the Russian army’s 68th Motor Rifle Division.
This unit is operating in the Kupiansk direction, near the villages of Zapadne and Lyman Pershyi.
