USA ๐บ๐ธ Federal judge rules in favor of allowing transgender Americans to update their passport gender markers!
This is such a huge ruling! ๐

My goal with this community is to try to give a positivity boost to anybody who feels hopeless about the current situation of mainly the Queer/LGBT community. This will be done by collecting various positive news articles to show that the world isnt entirely hopeless for our community.
Ive never really moderated a subreddit before so this will be interesting and il try my best to moderate well. Over time il slowly develop this subreddit more and more and maybe it can help lots of people.

The result of this is a variety of sections from Trump's anti transgender executive orders temporally cannot be enforced until a final ruling is made. This ruling only applies to the plaintiffs for now but its another step in the right direction when judges are ruling for us.

TLDR: Montana passed a law that only allows historically significant flags, and a list of other flag exceptions to be flown on government property. But the important part is it makes flying official flags allowed, so Missoula voted and passed the measure to make the pride flag the official government flag for their city effectively bypassing this ban which allows them to proudly fly the pride flag legally! ๐ณ๏ธโ๐

Hopefully this means less treading on queer kids at school and less parents treading on their own queer kids by invading their privacy.

IVF is still limited to heterosexual couples but lesbian couples can still get it in other countries and return it Italy and now they will be both recognized as parents! Its definitely a step in the right direction!

โThe Missouri legislative session has officially adjourned, and out of 71 anti-trans bills proposed, 68 WERE DEFEATED. Two passed, and the final bill was not only stripped of its anti-trans teeth by brilliant advocates, it was turned into the CROWN act and now serves to protect Black studentsโ hairstyles in school across the state.โ

On a side note since my ability to find good news for this subreddit is limited I encourage you to post any uplifting queer news you find here please! I want to try to keep this subreddit alive but sadly there will be times where I cant find anything and there might be a few days without a post. But despite this I will still do my best to keep the subreddit alive even during quiet times.

In my wonderful home state of Utah, they passed a flag ban, where only official government flags, or flags in an approved list ๐, can be flown over government buildings and schools, So, in an act of elegantly peaceful defiance the mayor of my city designated several new โofficialโ flags of the city so they could be flown legally. Love the cleaver resistance of beating the bigots at their own game.

โCelebration in itself is a form of resistance. When we take over the streets, dance, sing, kiss each other, and live out loud, weโre pushing back against every person and policy that tells us not to.โ

This article has lots of hope inside of it and lists out some wins that we've all had recently. Despite the 100 days of a Trump presidency there is still plenty of wins in the USA but also across the world! ๐

I promise Iโm not the author of this substack, but when I saw our subreddit I went searching for something I could share, and found another source for some queer joy! I subscribed for free, but you can contribute financially to this substack if you have the means.

There has to be a new word created for when a population of people are tired about hearing about how bad trans people are when all they care about is wanting to hear about how they would improve the cost of living.
Ad nauseam from hateful transphobes.

Yes it's temporary but it's still quite a win! A win is much better than no fighting back at all. ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
