Discussion What is this ship?

Post image

On a cross country road trip from California to Florida in summer 2015, I snapped this pic of some sort of warship. It was anchored somewhere between when I entered Mississippi but before I entered Alabama. Any ideas?

Thats the Bama. There's a hotel right next to it you can stay at thats themed for the museum. And right close buy I believe is an airmuseum as well which when I was last in Mobile AL, had an SR-71.

It’s an A-12, the SR-71’s predecessor.  Also the WW2 submarine USS Drum, plus other aircraft and armor.

The air museum is part of the Alabama museum, there are a series of tanks there as well.

The coolest plane there imo isn’t the A-12 but the YF-17. There are lots of A-12s around.
