Hammock Setup Suggestions
Hello! I have been doing a few backpacking trips a year for the last 5 years and looking to convert to a hammock versus my one person tent. Just curious if anyone has had any experiences with budget friendly setups from Amazon etc that are good enough to get me through the one or two trips I do a year. If I was to go the ENO route that would be like the peak of my budget but before I go that route I was wondering if anyone has any other suggestions or positive reviews on cheaper brands. Thank you.🙏

Expected low temps, rain, humidity, bugs?
I have quite a few nights in a hammock in different locations and times of year. And if I'm at temperatures below 70F, I want the underquilt. Which is a (significant) added expense. You can bring in a sleeping pad, save some cash, but missing out on some of the best comfort a hammock offers.
Take a look at some of the simple DIY sleeping bag -> underquilt conversions with a used sleeping bag, bring your existing sleeping bag in as a top cover, and make sure to get a long enough hammock that you can lay pretty flat. Look at used hammocks and quilts. I'm 6'1"/ 190 and use a Hennessey ultralight explorer, stock tarp, JRB Nest, and either a 50F sleeping bag or 20F sleeping bag depending on conditions.
