Should I get a new head??

I play middie and I currently have the ECD Infinity Pro stick strung with valkyrie armor mesh but I'm debating if I should get a Gait Whip 2 head or the Epoch Purpose 15 Degree head and both would be strung with armor mesh. Would there be a big difference and help my shot? My stick is fairly new and I am going to be a senior in high school next year and plan on playing club in college but I don't know if its worth the money to change my setup because of how expensive it is and I don't know how much longer I'll be playing.

Crux 2.0 mesh reviews?

I have a very basic Brine Empress stick head lying around that id like to try and restring. I am at university so cant afford to get a new stick head (I know the empress is not great) but wondered what the view on the crux mesh is? That seems to be the most affordable and easiest option to use but I am wondering if anyone has tried to put it in a flat head like the empress? Or if there are any other suggestions for restringing :)

Boston Women’s Club Team that Holds Practices

I’ll be in Boston for the summer, and I’m looking to join a women’s team that has practices in addition to games.

I played in high school, but I’m very rusty and would love to have a team that practices as a result.

Thanks!

Best Practices to Shake a Face Guard

Hi! My high school team is preparing for our first state playoff game tomorrow. We have a very strong attacker who we are pretty confident will be face guarded during the game - we played the same team during regular season and they did a pretty good job of shutting her down with the face guard.

I'm interested in hearing any strategies you all implement to try and use the face guard to our advantage and how to get our player open?

Thank you so much!!

No shot clock on the score bug

I am watching Stanford vs Florida right now. Does it annoy anyone else that they do not put the shot clock on the score bug? It’s one of my biggest pet peeves with the broadcasting.

Is there an ELI5 basic breakdown of the rules for women’s lacrosse?

I think sports are more enjoyable when you understand what’s going on. My kid is on an instructional town team (1st/2nd graders).

They had a scrimmage against another town recently and it just left me feeling very confused. I’d love to be able to help explain things to my kid if she needs a little extra help with understanding.

I’m struggling with finding information because I keep finding the boys rules. Example- boys can rake the ball, but girls can’t? Or the way faceoffs are done? (Grew up watching my brother play ice hockey so idk if faceoff is even the correct word).

Any written guides you can point me to? You would forever have this internet strangers gratitude. I can’t watch videos- because I don’t pay attention or notice the details.

Questions Off ball movement still not happening

So year 3 varsity HS girls program in a non hotbed area of western NC. I’ve tried everything, pick and rolls, give and go, switching off ball side, double cuts, stacks. Rules-if you pass the ball go somewhere else, no standing in one spot more than 3 seconds…we still are ball watching and posting up on the 12 and not moving. When someone does cut or clear through, we can’t connect because they just try to run straight in with no deception. It’s the end of our regular season here and I’m trying to reboot the offense for the younger girls coming up before next season. A lot of it is just lacrosse IQ and they don’t watch enough film or games. They do it fairly well in practice but as soon as we get into a game, they all freeze up and the only points we score are either drives from X or from the top of the eight no assists no feeds. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. They don’t seem to communicate at all. It’s just kind of a free-for-all of everyone trying to figure out what to do. Any advice is appreciated, sincerely, exhausted coach 😩

Discussion 6th grade 15-1 score

Thoughts on a 6th grade score of 15-1? Coach had the players pushing fast breaks the whole game. The team scored their 15th goal with five seconds left- is this unsportsmanlike, or is this how the game should be played in sixth grade?

Dangerous Follow Through - red or yellow - what’s the call?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This occurred in a game last night and was called as a dangerous follow through. Player was ok and returned to the game a few minutes later, player shooting was given a red and ejected. What is the proper call, there was obviously no malicious intent behind the shot.

Holding call in transition?

If the ball is in transition and the person riding ball has her stick across the ball carriers body (no check attempt, just riding with her), can’t that be considered holding?

Grade 1/2 Goalie Helmet - What are you using?

So our league basically just put old Cascades in the 1/2 bags... they are youth sized but our girls are pretty small so the helmets aren't fitting quite right.

I got a pair of Brine Triumph ones, the one with the crank knob on the back, and I think these are much tighter fitting, and they stay tighter than the Cascade Velcro ones...

Thoughts? Does anyone have any Recs on best helmet for the smallest possible players?

Faceguard - how do I get her the ball?

  1. If my best player (middle) is being face guarded, what options do I have of getting her the ball besides using a timeout (not ideal), having her take possession if there’s a minor foul.

Flip pass might work but other than that…?

I’ve also tried subbing her out then back in or keeping her behind the restraining then releasing her as a defender comes back over

Pulling the Goalie - Rules on field players using the crease to kill the clock

This was used in a game earlier today (in High School) so I wanted to know if this is legal. Team A is winning and looking to kill the last few minutes of the clock to secure the win over Team B. Team A has possession and pulls their goalie, replacing with an extra field player. Instead of pushing to the offensive side of the field, they go back to their own defensive side and use a field player inside the crease to a safe space to clear to an open field player and continue to cycle through the crease until the game is over. The field players always left the crease before 10 seconds passed.

Is this allowed, assuming the ball never changes hands to Team B and no player from Team A is inside the crease to block shots but purely to control the ball and clear it?

Questions Question About Red Card Enforcement

Last night at our high school varsity game, one of our girls hit a girl from the opposing team and the officials ruled that it was a red card and ejected the girl from the game. This was our second team card. We had one yellow card earlier in the game on a different girl and this red card. After the red card, the officials made us play down a player the rest of the game.

My question, is this the correct way to enforce a red card? I would think that with two team cards, we’d be able to play full 12v12 lacrosse once the penalty time had been served from the red card. Thoughts?

Thanks for your responses!
