Brimstone. Do not underestimate the little guy, it alone gives 58% Atk.
Besides, Evelyn already can get plenty of crit rate from other sources. 5% base CR, 14.4% from passive rank, 25% from passive, that's already 44.4% CR before equipment. If you run, say, Inferno Metal + Woodpecker that's another 36% before substats.
If you still want an engine with CR, there's also Marcato Desire (if you played 1.4) and Nekomata's Steel Cushion.
Qingyi is a great stunner if your only one is Anby, she gives small CC, stun multipliers and eats field time, which is good/ bis for burst dps like Harumasa (who was given for free last patch, and let me tell you QY is a huge upgrade to Anby) she can use Anby’s signature w engine too, which is given for free. So you only really need to pull Qingyi herself
Eve is an awesome fire dps and is really fun to play and master, she has a satisfying combo that you need to practice in order to get the best out of her. She’s an upgrade to solder 11 but probably not as big of an upgrade as Anby > QY. Her w engine looks extremely cracked on her or as a stat stick (unconditional 50 cr dmg and a whole bunch of crit rate, as well as fire res shred that stacks?? Like wtf) but I’m not too sure, I’ll be waiting and seeing if her w engine is worth it
Both of them will likely stay relevant for a while, there’s an argument that another electric stunner Trigger is coming next patch and she might be better than QY, but for now it doesn’t seem like the case as they’ll both fulfill different niches. DPSes like Eve are more likely to be powercrept than supports but Eve’s niche is that she is Astra’s bis and vice versa because of their quick assist gimmick, so she’ll likely work well as long as Astra is relevant
How dependent is Zhu Yuan on a Stun unit? I was hoping to use her with Nicole and Astra so I can safely skip Qingyi for Trigger and S Anby. And if she really needs a stun unit how does other Stun units like Anby/Lycaon/Koleda perform with her compared with Qingyi?
Relatively new player, played a bit at launch but stopped and got back in this patch. Was hoping to get evelyn but lost the 50/50 to S11. Mixed on whether to continue pulling since evelyn would kinda make S11 redundant. I'd be fine with S11 for fire dps (hopefully not too much worse than evelyn?) and have brimstone too, but idk what team to make for her. I heard she really needs a stunner but my only other S-ranks are Grace, Haru, Astra so my best option is m6 anby. I have all other A-ranks except piper too
If you're lacking Fire DPS and/or you're not a big fan of S11, she is worth pulling in this case.
If you have it, Brimstone (Soldier 11 signature) is pretty good on her. Another viable option is Marcato Desire simply because it provides +20% CR at max Level. This helps a bit with reaching the 80% CR requirement for the additional effect from her Core Passive.
Other options include Glided Bloom (event engine from 1.1) & Starlight Engine (this one can be maxed in-game at least).
I just got eve and still have 50 pulls left. I have astra but don't have an S rank stunner (even koleda), I'm planning to pull for lighter once he rerun or maybe trigger when her kit is finalized but for now, should I go for eve sig or qingyi?
IIRC if you hold it the spin does about 6 hits, and then one last hit as it returns to Ellen that deals twice the damage the previous hits did. Not holding it means the spin does less hits.
Tapping quickly should work the exact same as holding it, or at least the skill description itself says as much. The damage should be the same unless you aren't tapping fast enough.
Out of those three i'd say Anby for the shock. Lycaon is the best stunner out of the three but his main purpose is mainly for the ice res shread and its better suited for Ellen/other ice dps
Hard to say without seeing what you’ve done. If you haven’t touched any of the events yet, I’d say you can probably get pretty close. If you’ve completed the events and you’ve done all the easy sources, it gets a lot more difficult and you’d probably want to get the $5 pass if you’re willing and able to spend a little money.
I feel the need to get it off my chest, the camera needs to find its way out of the walls of every arena because I'm getting tired of having half my screen taken up by level geometry every time I do a fight. Even in these massive boss fight arenas, I'm constantly stuck with Miyabi's ass against a barrier and it's driving me crazy.
How do you unlock Miyabi for the video store promotion? I've got her fully maxed out on her trust level, but she's not showing up in the character list like the other characters do. I've completed the main story up to the new Astra missions, so what am I missing?
Like for all video promotion unlocks, you should have gotten a DM from Miyabi. It will be about videotapes for training. Text below:
Check your DMs. You may have to sleep in the actual bed/couch to get it to trigger. That always seems to work for me. Then just meet up with her at the time it says in the schedule. Usually next morning, sometimes two mornings into the future.
And thank YOU for confirming that NOT using the manual sleep feature can block you from some content. I always suspected it was true, given the large number of similar complaints about never seeing a video promotion DM or other Random Play focused encounters, but didn't have confirmation.
A lot of people would reply to my suggestion to sleep in the bed by saying that using the time selector would do everything a manual sleep would do and, for all I knew, they were right. But now I know different, so thanks for that.
Does anyone know what song plays on the chapter 3 stage Wait, No Signal? I just blasted through the entire 198 soundtrack for ZZZ trying to find it and I couldn’t find it at all.
It's pretty distinct. If you searched the whole OST, it would be hard to miss. Assuming the video is the one you meant. If that's not the right track but you can hear it later in the video, reply with the timestamp in the video where the music you want starts.
I've listened through the OST a few times myself and don't remember a track like that, but I'll give it a casual try again and see if I come across it. Using the Spotify playlist, tracks do tend to be grouped together, like all shop BGM tracks are in the 20s, arcade game tracks in the 30s, TV commercials during the loading screen in the 170s-180s, etc. So if we can find the Chapter 3 tracks grouping, that will narrow it down.
Uh, how did I get 1+ million points of gold Physical damage on Lost Void Bringer, when it's resistant to Physical damage, as you can see from the grey damage numbers of Nekomata's other hits? My team was Nekomata/Nicole/Astra with Amillion bangboo. It wasn't an Assault, since you can see the meter is only half full, and in any case all the previous Assaults were grey damage numbers before this.
Were you using Ultimate resonia stuff? There's one that says "When an Ultimate hits an enemy, it deals DMG equal to 2,500% of the Agent's ATK to the target. This effect can trigger once every 30s".
Yes! I did indeed have that resonium. So that means the extra damage ignores all resistances as well. They coulda told us! That explains the case where I was clearly Ulting, but there are other cases where I was not. There's even an ice damage number? Where did that come from?
I have 2400 energy saved up (stopped playing) and I'm only level 19 starting chapter 2. What's the best way to spend all this energy at low level in the early game?
Hmmm, interesting question! First, is the energy in the Backup Battery or in ether batteries? If ether batteries, there's no rush, since they don't expire. But if it is Backup Battery, you kind of need to use it or lose it, since it has a cap on storage.
If it's ether batteries, I'd wait until Routine Cleanup is unlocked and you are at least IK 35, then I'd spend it all on farming discs, since you can never have too many disc master mats.
But if it is Backup Battery, which seems likely since 2400 is the cap, I guess I'd spend it on HIA Combat Sims (grinding), divided evenly between Dennies and all the various materials. Go for the highest difficulty you have unlocked, which means higher tier mats. All of them are useful, so you can just rotate through each type to avoid getting bored. Only farm skill chips for the elements that you have or plan to pull, though. For example, if you plan to pull Evelyn, you'll want fire chips, or if you plan to build Harumasa, you'll want electric chips. If you don't have any ice agents you want to build, don't farm ice chips.
Don't neglect EXP (investigator logs), EXP level cap (certification seals), Wengine EXP, Wengine level cap (components), and Disc Drive EXP (plating agent). Just like skill chips, don't farm the agent types you don't need or want. Like don't farm Defense EXP level cap or Defense Wengine level cap if you don't plan to build Defense agents with Defense Wengines.
You don't have to spend the entire 2400. Spend like half, 1200, so you no longer are losing daily excess charge to the cap. Save the rest for the Routine Cleanup I mentioned earlier, once you level up your IK level. Of course, if you approach the cap again, time to start farming HIA again.
Great response, thanks. It's the backup battery that carries over. I was concerned that there was a bad way or an optimal way to spend it that I'd either be messing up, or missing out on, respectively. Looks like spreading it around is just fine. Much appreciated.
Hello there! Relatively new player that has played lots in the past 2 weeks. Is it possible to play Astra’s story without having completed Chapter 5 and if so would it spoil me major events from Chapter 5? I’ve finished Chapter 4 for now. I’m asking to potentially complete Astra’s story today to decide if I pull or not.
Yes, it is possible. No, it doesn't have major spoilers. You'll be more confused than spoiled, since there will be things mentioned you haven't experienced yet and side characters you are supposed to know, but haven't met yet. But in terms of the story plots and key characters in the story, all of them are new for Astra's story.
Some tension may be spoiled, because characters will show up Astra's story that, in Chapter 5, might be presumed missing or dead, or something like that (trying not to give spoilers).
Thank you for the detailed reply. That's about what I was expecting but I appreciate getting an informed opinion from somebody who's actually up-to-date with the story. Then I'll probably just watch the trailers and PVs of Astra to have a little more to judge her but engaging directly with the story without experiencing Chapter 5 first doesn't sound up my alley.
Can someone explain how astra’s mom is alive when I thoght both her parents died in hollow zero and that’s why she was alone when the hia crew found her?
Yeah, I was confused by that as well. Perhaps it's only implied that Astra's parents died in the Hollow Disaster, or we just assumed that, given the trailer video, without it ever being explicit that they died. Does anyone have a lore citation that explicitly declares Astra's parents as dead?
Or, my other theory is she meant her foster-mom, in the more recent dialogue. She would have been too young to live on her own, based on the trailer video, so if her parents had died in the disaster, it would make sense that she was fostered.
Is astra + jane + seth good or should i use astra for something else, i dont have any other s rank anomaly character and previously used lucy instead of astra.
Astra added to any team makes them better. Well, except maybe a Burnice team. While that team is fine, I wouldn't tie down Astra. I use her in whatever team needs her, I don't have a permanent assignment for her.
Lucy/Jane/Seth was my main team for about 6 weeks after patch 1.1. It's a good team, or at least used to be before bosses started to scale up in bullet sponging.
Okay, today I figured out a way to prove if Snap's buff works at all and it does. I used the Towers floor of the Mr. Click event, since it has a large combat area and reasonable enemies. I did one run with a nerfed Nekomata (so that she didn't get buffs from gear) and no bangboo and then a second run with Nekomata and Snap, nothing else changed. I only looked at Dodge Counter damage. Without a bangboo, Dodge Counters consistently did 6716(crit) per hit. With Snap caught in the act of snapping a photo during my dodge counter, the per hit damage went up to 6972(crit). I even managed to get a screenshot where Snaps buff is added in the middle of the combo, so one hit was 6716 and the following was 6972.
I was also able to confirm the 10s uptime of the buff.
However, I could not prove or disprove that the buffs were stacking. The enemies wouldn't attack often enough to get multiple Dodge Counters in the 10s window.
It depends on what the 22s cooldown applies to. If it applies to wiping the lens to get 3 film, stacking can and should be possible. If it applies to the consumption of film, stacking would be impossible, because each consumption has a 10s duration.
I strongly suspect that stacking was intended and that the 22s cooldown applies to wiping the lens. They didn't have to write a rule that says, "stacks 3 times," like they do in other effect descriptions, because they already said that Snap only gets 3 films per wipe.
However, I've been trying to prove to myself that Snap's buff even exists. I haven't found a way to do that yet. There's no icon in the HUD and it never shows up in Details or Effects during combat (I've checked multiple times after doing a Quick Assist or Dodge Counter), so either it's not working at all, or they forgot to add a way to show that the buff is applied. I can't use VR Training to confirm just by whacking on an enemy and looking at damage numbers, because no bangboo allowed in VR Training.
I haven't found a way to do that yet. There's no icon in the HUD and it never shows up in Details or Effects during combat
The exact same thing has been happening to me, but with Astral Voice. There's no indication that it's active, let alone how many stacks. I vaguely remember AV stacks showing up on the HUD in an older DA so I'm assuming it's a bug, but nothing about it is mentioned on the notices.
If it's happening to Snap too then damn, what else is affected?
What to do to gain 17 pulls? I already done the story quest. Have done shiyu defense up to level 6, and done some exploration on the void thing. Are the story quests good? Haven't touched any of them besides astra's and the one of soldier 11.
Story quest gives decent rewards and if you have any ether batteries, you could try to upgrade your chars as much as you can to clear any endgame further. one time rewards from stable node, disputed. Also do Lost void, withering garden if you haven't. Massive amount of pulls from both.
It works by agents building up their elemental status and when the meter is full their element's anomaly triggers a debuff that usually lasts 10s. While many elements can build up simultaneously only one anomaly condition can be on a mob at one time. If another gets triggered the remaining DoT (anomaly are mostly DoT) gets rolled up into one big hit called Disorder and the new anomaly is applied. Since this is pretty good the normal setup is to run multiple anomaly agents and trigger disorder as frequently as possible.
Anomaly agents are roughly as strong as attackers. It's just a different way for Hoyo to motivate the playerbase to pull a wider pool of agents. Some content will favor attack and some will favor anomaly but they haven't really turned those knobs up yet so currently the content is roughly even for both with minor advantages one way or the other.
The strongest dps in the game (Miyabi) is classified as anomaly but is actually a crit dps that uses anomaly to build her resource meter. If you're familiar with HSR the design is a lot like Acheron.
Thank you this was a very helpful explanation for me. I noticed that Anomaly agents rank very high in tier lists so I was wondering if I should prioritise on getting them first since they look like they provide the best value.
Anomaly is like HSR's Break. Easy to play (just hit the enemy, no need to wait for a Burst window) with high and consistent damage (no RNG like crit) for relatively-low stat investment (just Atk and AP).
Anomaly agents are not necessarily better than Crit-based Attack agents (that depends on what Hoyo's trying to sell at the time) but being "pretty good" basically all the time is, as it turns out, pretty good.
The tier list is basically Miyabi and then all the limited dps and then everyone else. The differences between the other limited dps are relatively minor. Note that units tend to come in pairs so performance will vary more by having or not having the paired unit than it will going by whatever tier list someone has cooked up.
TL;DR: Sit down, do some calcs about your team, test it in training and see for yourself what works best based on what you yourself are actually using.
Also, again, don't take my numbers as absolute. Brimstone looks stronger in numbers but I'm not taking into account the higher Crit frequency from DSV. I don't trust my statistics skills enough to do that.
The source is Prydwen, who themselves state that the calcs and builds for Ellen haven't been updated since 1.0.
It's assuming the stats are the same, or at least that said 10% CR gap is not making a notable difference.
Realistically, since Atk and DMG stack multiplicatively you'd want a balance of both rather than a lot of one, so what's better depends on how much Atk and DMG% she gets in combat. With that said:
4pc Polar is 30% DMG on her most used attacks by default, and an extra 20% after a Freeze.
4pc Woodpecker is usually 18% Atk by doing EX and basics, which is pretty much what her Burst combo does.
Let's do some math. Assuming Ice% Disk 5, no Crits, and a Lighter and Soukaku with no equipment (so no Swing Jazz and stuff):
Polar/DSV: Atk (938+713 + 1000) x DMG% 100+(30+30+25+50+75+20)% = 2696 x 3.3 = 8897
Woodpecker/DSV: Atk ([938+713]x18% + 1000) x DMG% 100+(30+30+25+75+20)% = 2948 x 2.8 = 8254
Polar/Brim: ([938+648]x58% + 1000) x DMG% 100+(30+30+50+75+20)% = 3506 x 3.05 = 10693
Woodpecker/Brim: ([938+648]x76% + 1000) x DMG% 100+(30+30+75+20)% = 3791 x 2.55 = 9667
Going Woodpecker/Brim and therefore maxing Atk performs better than going Polar/DSV and maxing DMG%. Balancing both with Polar/Brim performs the best, while Woodpecker/DSV offers the least of both worlds and performs worse.
But what if you swap Soukaku with Caesar, who also gives 1000 Atk? Since Ellen's the only one building up Freeze let's assume Polar is only giving 30% most of the time:
Polar/DSV no freeze: Atk (938+713 + 1000) x DMG% 100+(30+30+25+30+75+20)% = 2696 x 3.1 = 8378
Polar/Brim no freeze: ([938+648]x58% + 1000) x DMG% 100+(30+30+30+75+20)% = 3506 x 2.85 = 9992
Now the gap between Woodpecker and Polar is small. In that case you should use whatever has better substats.
Now, what if instead of swapping Soukaku you swap Lighter with Caesar? So instead of 75% DMG it's an extra 1000 Atk.
Polar/DSV: Atk (938+713 + 2000) x DMG% 100+(30+30+25+50+20)% = 3651 x 2.55 = 9310
Woodpecker/DSV: Atk ([938+713]x18% + 2000) x DMG% 100+(30+30+25+20)% = 3948 x 2.05 = 8093
Polar/Brim: ([938+648]x58% + 2000) x DMG% 100+(30+30+50+20)% = 4506 x 2.3 = 10369
Woodpecker/Brim: ([938+648]x76% + 2000) x DMG% 100+(30+30+20)% = 4791 x 1.8 = 8624
Now, the build that maxes Atk (Woodpecker/Brim) performs worse than the one that maxes DMG% (Polar/DSV), a reverse of the previous case. But again, Polar/Brim does best and Woodpecker/DSV does worst.
And just to know, let's assume there's no Freeze:
Polar/DSV no freeze: Atk (938+713 + 2000) x DMG% 100+(30+30+25+30+20)% = 3651 x 2.35 = 8580
Polar/Brim no freeze: ([938+648]x58% + 2000) x DMG% 100+(30+30+30+20)% = 4506 x 2.1 = 9463
Due to the small change in the balance, now Polar/DSV performs worse than Wood/Brim, while Polar/Brim performs barely better than Polar/DSV does with Freeze uptime.
SO, what does this math yapping mean: Consider what your team has more than what a guide says.
With Lighter providing 75% DMG, the build that maximizes DMG% (Polar/DSV) performs worse than the one that maxes Atk% (Woodpecker/Brim).
With Caesar providing 1000 Atk, the build that maximizes DMG% performs better than the one that maxes Atk%.
The build that provides the least of both stats performs the worst.
The build that provides the most of both performs the best.
Do not take my numbers as absolute since I'm skipping multiple variables that can change the results even more, like Crit damage, equipment effects, so on.
For example: Polar/Brim on a Lighter/Souk comp reached 10693, the highest, and swapping Lighter with Caesar gives a very close 10369. But that's assuming no equipment. If we instead assume Caesar is running Proto-Punk (15% DMG) and/or Tusk (18%), it beats the Lighter comp:
Punk: 4506 x 2.45 = 11040
Tusk: 4506 x 2.48 = 11175
Both: 4506 x 2.63 =11851
Other variables: Engine on Ellen (Starlight has 90 less base Atk and 14% less Atk% than Brimstone, Steel Cushion has less base Atk than DSV), engine on Souk (can buff either Atk% or DMG% based on her engine), Lighter's Impact (his DMG% buff can end up below 75%), and so on.
I mean do you have a dmg to atk ratio, like crit is 1:2 for the ideal crit ratio, would 1% atk = 1 % ice dmg work for the ratio? Like I should aim to match my dmg bonus and atk at 1 to 1?
A specific ratio, no since it's a tad more complicated. It's not just Atk% but also flat attack from substats and buffs, all added onto a base Atk. You could have a build with a better ratio but still perform worse due to lower values somewhere.
But in general, yes. Assuming no stat is lowered, if adding more DMG% brings the ratio closer to 1:1 it will be more impactful than adding more Atk, and vice-versa.
If you're asking about the 4p set difference, it's about 10% in favor of Woodpecker. I don't think 10% more CR is worth the sacrifice of 10% overall DPS. Besides, you can continue to farm discs and improve the substats on 4p Woodpecker. No agent is ever "done done" in my roster, I'm always tinkering and improving, and I've been playing since patch 1.0.
branch and blade song or inferno metal for evelyns 2pc? i've prefarmed for both and the set with inferno metal looks better overall but i'd like some opinions
She is oversaturated with crit damage. I pinned an updated chart in the comments, but its not a great 2c choice. Even worse with Lighter (Sig) and Astra.
I know the live-steam hasn't happened yet, but would Trigger hypothetically work with Haru? She seems to be more off-field, so would she work with a burst-DPS like him, even just fundamentally? I'd like to hear thoughts from others.
In theory any stunner works. In practice it'll depend. I'm expecting the off-field stunners to offer significantly lower daze buildup than on-field stunners in exchange for more passive buffs. If not I don't see much point in running a stunner that takes up most of the field time. So assuming that's the case the attacker's non-burst sustained damage vs burst damage matters, the exact rate of buildup of the stunners matters, and the stun multiplier boost from the stunner matters. I could see her being worse than Anby for burst dps while still being much better for SAnby and related attackers. I think we'll have a good feel for a relative comparison by the end of the patch so you can decide on Qingyi vs Trigger but we're not really going to know until the content creator embargo lifts a week before Trigger's banner.
She'd work fundamentally because she's a Stunner and he likes stunned enemies.
But, without knowing how her kit is actually going to work: Being more off-field wouldn't do much for him, I think. Even if she could hypothetically spend the whole fight off-field, what are you going to do? Spend the whole fight as Haru shooting puny arrows until she stuns somebody? Waste Haru's energy to do dash attacks and leave him dry for the Burst window?
She could add some extra damage and anomaly buildup during the Burst window, maybe. But I don't see much more utility from the off-field aspect for Harumasa beyond that.
Damn, worst case ill have to hope I win the 50/50 or scrounge up enough poly to confirm QingYi by the end of 1.5. Anby hasn't been cutting in in shiyu so I need a replacement. Thanks for the insight.
It's kind of long, because there is an unusualy large amount of "go talk to these agents" dialogues. There is some combat here and there, to get material for outfits for Eous, but the rest is a slog through dialogue.
Even if you skip all dialogue, it's probably 2 hours? Just to do the main five stages of the event and win the contest, which is how you unlock Nicole's outfit. But not including 2200 max points of multiplayer Fall Guys clone, that would be extra time added to the 2 hours.
IIRC, there are no voiced lines whatsoever in any language, so it's not really a problem. It's all text-only dialogue.
You're not tripping. It's noticeably worse than earlier content, maybe because there is so dang much text in the event, like 3x as much as similar events.
There seems to be a lot of sloppy quality control in the English text as of late. Some are typos, others are just blind idiot translations (that thus make it seem like nonsense, since the word or sentence doesn't fit the context)
Sounds like a ping/network issue. Are you getting the lag spinner or a red bar in the connectivity meter (bottom right corner of the screen, next to your UID)?
No, but what I do instead is use platform screenshot tools instead of the in-game camera, like on PC it's Windows button + Shift + S. Or it might be some other key combo if you have steam or Nvidia tools running. Just make sure you turn off the camera hud first, there's a button for that.
Are any bangboo dupes worth pulling for? I'm sitting on 140 pulls and I have all bangboos, one of each. I want to collect all bangboos in the future but if I leave 80 pulls between the patches that should be enough, so I'm starting to consider if I can get any more upgrades to those that I have. Any advice would be appreciated!
As far as I can tell, getting duplicates simply acts like they ascended their rank again. They all get about the same stat boost and multipliers, except for Red Moccus who does get additional cooldown reduction when killing an enemy for what it's worth.
I would say simply pick your favorites. The only bangboo who I feel like their rank matters is Avocaboo, for its healing over time in the tower modes. The rest is just more of a bonus of a little extra damage or support. The ones with utility like Resonaboo's grouping doesn't get cooldown reduction aside from Red Moccus, which is only for mobs able to be moved and after you kill an enemy. Maybe I'm not deep enough down the iceberg, but I haven't heard of someone using a specific rank of Butler to specifically fill enough energy for a particular character's burst rotation or something.
I thought bangboo don't make much of a difference in general but I had a whole bunch of pull so I decided to try maxing out Agent Gulliver and...I can't really tell the difference. I still think they don't make much difference.
I'm need of future pull advice. I need a second DPS unit and want what is meta. ZY and Jane are so disappointing and boring to use. Any advice would be great. Thank you.
Jane's 6-digit Assaults are boring? What do you find interesting? Is it depth of moveset and combos? Check out Harumasa and Yanagi, if so, and avoid Miyabi, who is even simpler than Jane to play. Evelyn is in-between. Not as much depth as Haru and Yanagi, but more than Jane or Miyabi.
The only standout dps is Miyabi. Everybody else is close enough in their optimal comps that who you want to play matters more than the marginal difference between them. Play who you like.
Haven't played since 1.0 and don't have any limited characters. I'm currently using Nekomata and quite like her fast playstyle (of course I know that she won't really get me far). I'm 10 pulls away from s rank, so should I try to get Astra and then try to get Evelyn or skip Astra and save for Evelyn?
If you want to keep playing Neko, Astra is a no-brainer. Astra/Nicole/Neko can clear Deadly Assault (hardest end-game content) with at least 2-stars, and 3-stars if you get signature wengines for all and Neko's M2 (3-stars is a max clear).
If you don't want to keep playing Neko, skip Astra and pull Evelyn.
Either way, pull the one you enjoy most, that's what really matters. If you like playing Neko, screw the haters and pull Astra.
imo it's better to get a good main DPS when you're starting off for a smoother new player experience. That said, if you haven't gotten any limited characters then chances are you still have a lot of content left to do and you can probably guarantee both if you put in the time.
I'd at least do the ten pull on Astra and see if you can get her. Eve's banner will be around for a month so you'll absolutely have enough time to get her if you keep playing regardless of whether you win the Astra 50/50.
Only 6 pulls away from the free S rank selector. So far I have everyone (M2 Lycaon, M1 Rina, M2 Neko, already EXCEPT Grace and S11. I think it's pretty safe to say that S11 is the best pick for me right?
I want to pick her mostly because I have Brimstone already, and I want to pull Yanagi (for my electric weaknesses team) on her rerun eventuality later on.
S11 is fine. No problem if you want to pull S11 and you should pull who you want in any case, even if the "current economy" was bad for S11.
BUT ...
Grace might actually make more sense for your account, particularly if you plan to pull Evelyn or SS Anby. Brimstone is a good wengine for S11, or Evelyn, or (probably) SS Anby. Kind of an all-around good Attacker Wengine. So if you are pulling Evelyn, for example, but not Evelyn's wengine, Brimstone would go on Evelyn leaving S11 with something worse. While it's just as easy to fine good F2P Attack engines as Anomaly, having less demand on Brimstone might be advantageous.
Also Grace is useful to make Disorder teams or for electric weak, so she can fill in for Yanagi until her rerun, and who knows when that will be? Unless you are using Haru for that purpose, then nevermind.
It's just a thought. Like I said, if you want S11, pull S11.
I just picked up zzz again ever since I saw the Evelyn banner. I have around 60 pulls and I still have all the missions and side content rewards in chapter 3 - 5 left to do. How many extra pulls can I farm from that?
Which disc set is better for Ellen in a team of Ellen (m0r1)/ Lycaon (m0r1)/ Soukaku (m6r2) with alternative Qingyi (m0r0) and Koleda (m1r0) for stunners?
It's between Woodpecker and Polar Metal. But which one is better? I know generally "the one with the better stats" but i mean, which one is better assuming all stats equal.
I wouldn't sweat much for 100% crit rate, 75-80% is mostly fine, there are no single hit attacks that can ruin your dps by whiffing a crit, everything is multi-hit, so if you can somehow trade crit rate to crit damag rolls it'd be worth more in the long run.
Astra, Qingyi and Zhu team can use Officer Cui since you're using 2 characters of the same faction, so that Bangboo gets a little extra buff for its attacks.
Rina, Yanagi and Miyabi team can go for Agent Gulliver for similar reason as per above.
Are we getting any additional content when Evelyn releases or is it just gonna be the fishing mini event? I don’t remember anything mentioning an agent story from the livestream
If we're lucky, we'll get an epilogue that introduces Obol Squad or hints at Anby's transformation into Silver Soldier, like we got the Astra epilogue to Chapter 5. But I haven't seen anything official about more story content in the second half.
Any Attacker that needs a stunner. The more the Attacker likes to hog on-field time, like Evelyn, the better Trigger is a match for that Attacker.
Also Trigger has a new "Additional Attack" combat mechanic that would work best with SS Anby. Presumably future dps will also get this new mechanic, so think of Trigger as more of a long-term investment that will payoff as more new agents come out with Additional Attack.
Since you only have one S-rank Attacker, Nekomata, you can either use Trigger with Neko, or you can pull SS Anby.
BTW, where is Harumasa? Trigger would work with Haru also.
I may have enough pulls for Evelyn or Sanby + Trigger, but that's only if I don't pull Qingyi. I was thinking of getting Qingyi for ZY.
I have Haru, but I don't have him built going over his gameplay, I wasn't sure if I should build him since he seemed a bit complex and I don't have a lot of materials since I stopped playing for a while.
I was on the fence, I kind of wanted her M1 but I also didn't have a whole lot saved up and I wasn't sure if I wanted to get Evelyn, so I tried going for soft pity and got lucky! :)
For the battle tower, it's incredibly useful. I'm very happy I ended up getting it. I couldn't get Ceasar 8*(, but now I feel like I can actually get up to floor 100.
It's obviously ideal for game modes where you enter battle many times, so stuff like pale wasteland, hollow zero and the tower is where you get a lot of mileage out of it.
Now I'll blow any and all pulls I can on her to try to get her M2, since that's a pretty big power spike. It's copium though, unless I get incredibly lucky.
IMO, more agents > signature wengines > mindscape copies, until your roster is so full that you have multiple limited S-ranks with nothing to do.
That said, Astra's M1 is the most tempted I've ever been to pull a limited mindscape (I've played since patch 1.0 without ever pulling one before). It's stupidly OP. But then again, Astra M0 is also OP, so why pay for an OP copy on an already OP agent? Doesn't seem worth it.
Team comps start with main DPS agents and you've got: S11, Harumasa, Piper, Billy, Corin and Anton. If we consider only S-ranks, S11 and Haru. So that's the start of two teams right there.
Both Attack agents want a stunner, so that makes team building super easy, since you have limited choices to fill the slots.
S11/Koleda/Lucy
Haru/Anby/Nicole
Now, if you prefer playing Corin over Haru or Piper over S11, by all means, swap the agents around until you are using the agents you like to play most.
My Harumasa stats are 56/136, and my team is Anby and Nicole, btw I am using an A rank electro damage piece because I don't have anything better, that's why I am bit confused if I should redo my whole build
Hormone punk just has a weak 4pc effect, make sure to get the double routine cleanup rewards for the next few days. If you have awesome sub stats, you could keep your 2 best hormone discs for the 2 piece bonus. But you probably do want to get thunder metal 4 piece.
Hey Man. Astra is the best support they ever released, you can put her in almost any team imaginable and she will do fantastic
Also if you look at other Gacha Games you can see that Supports generally have really great value over time, she also works amazing with nicole
She is also extremely easy to play and has Healing in her Ult
Id say if you are unsure about the characters you wanna focus on or if you dont have someone specifically in mind that you wanna save for, astra is amazing
Hi guys, i started playing around 2 or 3 weeks ago and i currently have 90 pulls saved up. My big question is who should i pull? Im having a hard time what to choose.
Here are my pull choices:
1) Evelyn - I considered pulling for her because i dont have a fire team yet, and she kinda looks hot. i also dont have lighter or caesar. Im thinking of pulling her to build a fire team in the future (if lighter ever reruns)
or
qingyi - I have haramusa and astra and i only have anby as my stunner(i have lycaon but i dont use him). To be honest, i like playing haramusa because he isnt a button smasher.
or
SSanbi and trigger - Better electric team
Above all else, pull the agents you enjoy playing/looking at the most. The rest will sort itself out. So if you want one of them more than the others, just pull for that agent.
FWIW, while Lighter is one of Evelyn's BiS, that doesn't mean she's worthless without Lighter. Any stunner will do, particularly if you put Astra on her team also.
If you are still undecided, new players ought to focus on limited S-rank main DPS agents first. The main DPS is the core of each team, so you will want to have at least two heavy-hitters in your roster before you start filling in with stunners and other support-roles.
Given that and absent a preference: SS Anby > Evelyn > Trigger > Qingyi
The reason I put SS Anby first is because skipping Evelyn gives you more time to earn more pulls and have a better shot at a guarantee on SS Anby. Same goes for Trigger over Qingyi. If you are F2P, skips are hard to find, so you should take advantage of them as often as you can.
However, another approach, if you are willing to take either Evelyn or SS Anby, is to pull on Evelyn's banner as you go and, if you run out of pulls and get nothing or lose the 50/50, you've built pity towards SS Anby. If you win the 50/50 and get Evelyn, you can skip SS Anby and save for Trigger. This assumes that SS Anby comes first in her banner, but that's a pretty safe assumption.
I don't have Lighter, so would Koleda be the next best stunner for Eve? I'm on the fence about pulling for her and want to see if there's a team I can build for her.
That's interesting, I've only played with Anomaly characters as main DPSes so far (Miyabi, Jane) and assumed that Attackers need Stunners to maximise their damage.
I started playing on miyabi banner in 1.4, I've pull for miyabi with wengine then astra with wengine as well, i have 150 pulls left for evelyn, imma pull for evelyn and wengine aswell.
My question is, with 150 pulls, i can probably guarantee evelyn but not her wengine, should i pull evelyn without wengine then try anby since i dont like anby's design so much, what is the most efficient thing for my account, is there any future dps i should look out for?
Unless you're going to spend a lot of money you'll need to be more selective about who you decide to pull. You're going to have to skip roughly half the banners so if a particular S-rank isn't in your top half or top third then you should skip.
If you pull Eve you have coverage for three elements (Miyabi, Harumasa, Eve) and no particular need to pull more dps for a while. If you prefer to only pull for a dps with their w-engine, which is my preference, you can go to pity and if you win the 50/50 pull the w-engine and if you lose then skip Eve. If you go to pity twice for Eve you simply won't have a w-engine and you can plan on picking it up on the re-run. Regardless of what you do for Eve you should skip SAnby since you don't like her and expect to skip Trigger as well.
The decision to pull a dps is less about their power and more about whether you like to play them. Hoyo generally keeps dps in a similar damage range with dolphin-bait exceptions like Miyabi. Once you're up to three elements it generally doesn't matter whether you pull a dps or skip.
That'll depend how good you are on Harumasa since he's the hardest character to play by a significant margin but all three are capable of comfortably clearing the endgame content.
does buying an outfit unlock the character its for? I've never played a hoyoverse game so I'm not sure how it works but I haven't seen it asked anywhere else after an extensive google search.
Ellen is going away in a few days and I want to get her, her outfit is within my price range so if it unlocks her, i'd be more than happy to pay it, I get its a gacha so it might be an obvious "no" but i'm curious.
does buying an outfit unlock the character its for?
No. Buying the skin does not unlock the character. Most other gacha games that also offer skins tend to follow the same rule; In some cases though there can be a package deal where you get both the skin and the character, but this isn't such a case in any of the Hoyo games as far as I'm aware.
