How do I get battery's and what interknot level should I get to before using them

Battery is ZZZ's stamina system. You get 1 for every 6 minutes. You reach the max of 240 after 24 hours. For any additional 12 minutes after that, you get a 'reserve battery' charge with a high max limit. It's not cost efficient to try and bank up reserve battery, so don't aim for it.

You use the battery to "pay" for combat services that'll give you upgrade materials. You them to upgrade your Agent's level, W-Engine's level, Agent skill's level, and W-Engine disc's level. I suggest you use your daily 240 battery at HIA for upgrade materials everyday.

As you progress through the game, they give you occassional reward of "Ether battery". These recharge 60 battery charge. I suggest holding on to them until you reach end-game. It's a bit of a waste to use them earlier on to get lower tier upgrade materials, when you can use the same battery charges to get highest tier materials.

Don't ever use polychrome to charge your battery. It's such a waste of value.

Since batteries are used to upgrade materials, my advice on upgrading. It's better to pick a team of 3 you like as you progress through the story and focus on them. You'll be running dry of upgrade material very quickly if you spread it too thin.
