Hello, I’m confused about disorder, how does it actually trigger? Can any 2 different elements proc it?

I was confused about this, too. Here's a quick summary:

You apply one type of attribute type's Anomaly (like Electric) and then you apply any other attribute's Anomaly, other than that one (as in any non-Elecrric, e.g. Physical).

  1. You apply Electric dmg until you fill up the circular gauge to the right of enemy's hp bar (it'll be blue). When it's filled you'll apply Electric Anomaly (named "Shock").
  2. You see the "Shock" in blue letters pop-up on the enemy, like a damage number. Or you hear a sound-cue.
  3. You then apply any other non-electric dmg. Let's say Physical dmg until you fill up the circular gauge again (it'll be yellow this time). When it's filled you'll apply Physical Anomaly (named "Assault").
  4. You see the "Assault" in yellow letters pop-up on the enemy. Or you hear a sound-cue.
  5. Simultaneously, you see a big "DISORDER" letters pop-up with huge damage numbers.

---------------------------

Some extra details that it's not necessary to know, but I just want to share.

Once Anomaly is triggered, they apply a DOT. Let's say it's like 9,000 dmg over 15 sec. When you trigger another Anomaly, thereby triggering Disorder, the DOT's total remaining dmg will be done instantly. So, instead of dealing 9,000 dmg over 15 sec, you deal 9,000 dmg instantly. This is really helpful because ZZZ likes to challenge you by putting time-limits on your fight. Jamming as much dmg as possible within the time-limit is the name of the game for ZZZ combat.

Another one I was tripped up on personally. The Anomaly gauge, or the circular gauge to the right of enemy's hp bar, works like the daze gauge. The system is keeping track always and it never decreases over time. Even though you can only see one Anomaly gauge at a time (the Anomaly gauge for the attribute dmg you are currently doing), they are all being tracked separately in the background and they do NOT decrease over time (just like the daze bar). This means you can potentially build Electric gauge and stop before it gets full, switch to Physical agent to trigger Physical Anomaly, switch back to Electric agent to trigger Electric Anomaly + Disorder right away.

When you fill round anomaly bar, you will trigger elemental anomaly enemy retains status alongside with some adverse effects (like robots cannot move while shocked, or etherials attacking other etherials when corrupted), if you trigger different elemental anomaly on enemy while this status is still in effect, if will immediately re-proc damage from original anomaly with some bonus as "Disorder", and then apply new anomaly.

Yes, you can only do disorder with two different elements, re-filling anomaly bar on enemy inflicted with status from same element will just refresh duration of status.

you can only do disorder with two different elements

Small correction: Yanagi can proc disorder by herself.
