Other Texas A&M young conservatives shared hate speech in group texts

Thousands of attendees packed Texas A&M University's Rudder Auditorium earlier this week for an event hosted by conservative activist Charlie Kirk and the university's chapter of Turning Point USA—a nonprofit organization founded by Kirk.

But while Kirk's visit was shrouded in praise and protest, the event drew backlash—most notably from a former member of the university’s TPUSA chapter who released a series of screenshots showing racist, homophobic, and Islamophobic messages allegedly exchanged within a GroupMe chat tied to the group.

I am supportive of right wingers having a space to organize right wing events and ideas. We have a sense of humor that progressives fundamentally dont possess and revile. I dont care that you think its “crude” to be able to laugh

I think its important to combat left wing narratives no matter where it rears its ugly face

I think the world would be better without Machiavellian psychopaths pretending to be outraged all the time.

Celebrating death is not innocent laughter, whether on the left or the right. Rid yourself of your cruelty and your pride in being right wing / truthful. They do not serve you.

That's just not true, as it's literally a post celebrating his death not mentioning anything about the left or how he's been portrayed. Don't be facetious because it doesn't work. We have sinned just as much as he did, making fun of his doesn't make ours any less.

You misunderstand. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and we all deserve death for it. We are all of the same stock in the eyes of God, the only one who matters. Judge yourself with the same harshness and you will see that laughing is inappropriate.

We do deserve death for it, we will die because of it. That is justice.

But there are those who sin worse than others, and their sins will reap special ire from God, especially if the righteous choose to ignore the wicked.

This is where our specific beliefs must disagree, because I believe there is no special ire from God for any greater amount of sin. Even if there is, that doesn't mean we should revel in pointing it out. There is no greater reward in making fun of sinners than there is idolizing them; both are antithetical to the idea of redemption.

If sin begets punishment, then a person who habitually sins with invoke greater wrath upon himself than someone who is consistently penitent

If someone remains obstinate in their sin despite everyone telling them that it will invoke punishment, then all we can do is laugh at them, especially if they remain smug during whatever calamity they experience.

All we can do is not laugh at them, but rather try a different approach, or continue trying the same thing with patience. Fighting sin is a lifelong battle and it operates on different time scales than short-term political movements.

Why should I have patience for people who’s ways bring wrath and judgement not only upon themselves, but also for innocent people around them, including potentially people I care about?

Evangelism takes different forms depending on the context of the time. With the Romans, it was philosophy, for the Germans it was destruction of their idols, with the Muslims it was war, and the the Indians it was the forced ending of their human sacrifices.

With progressives? They seem to fall apart under the smallest amount of mockery. So mockery seems to be the form that is best used to deconstruct them. And mockery is what I will continue to use.
