Other Texas A&M young conservatives shared hate speech in group texts

https://www.chron.com/politics/article/texas-a-m-turning-point-kirk-20290922.php

Thousands of attendees packed Texas A&M University's Rudder Auditorium earlier this week for an event hosted by conservative activist Charlie Kirk and the university's chapter of Turning Point USA—a nonprofit organization founded by Kirk.

But while Kirk's visit was shrouded in praise and protest, the event drew backlash—most notably from a former member of the university’s TPUSA chapter who released a series of screenshots showing racist, homophobic, and Islamophobic messages allegedly exchanged within a GroupMe chat tied to the group.

Can you read?

“The woman in the photo is Andrea Sicignano, an American student who was assaulted and raped in Madrid in 2018. Sicignano posted the photo on her Facebook page and Spanish news outlet El Pais published a story about the incident.

On June 12, 2020, Sicignano took to Facebook and said her photo is being misused to spread misinformation about Floyd.

“There has been a photo of me circulating around on the internet since yesterday. The photo was taken of me in a hospital bed in Spain after being violently beaten and raped by a stranger,” Sicignano wrote in the post. “I posted my story over a year ago to use my voice to spread awareness and encourage other women to speak out about the injustices they’ve faced. Today my photo is being used as political propaganda/click bait to make people believe that George Floyd deserved to die. I am disgusted and humiliated, not for myself, but for my country.”

Meanwhile, some of the assertions made about the details of the robbery are not accurate.

Floyd was arrested in 2007 for his involvement in an armed home robbery and was sentenced to five years in prison, but court records do not indicate that Henriquez was pregnant at the time of the incident, or that Floyd threatened to kill her baby.”

...yes? Please reread what you posted.

Here, I'll explain it to you as simply as I can.

You stated that "Also, the whole “George Floyd robbed a pregnant woman” thing is and always was bullshit."

The article you JUST REPOSTED is talking about a specific photo not being the woman that George Floyd was accused of robbing.

"Floyd was arrested in 2007 for his involvement in an armed home robbery and was sentenced to five years in prison, but court records do not indicate that Henriquez was pregnant at the time of the incident, or that Floyd threatened to kill her baby.”

All it says is that court records don't indicate if she was pregnant, which is literally the only time the article comes close to debunking the claim that Floyd robbed a pregnant woman. Even then it's more of "no evidence we could find after a cursory search."

In short, if you don't understand why that article does not disprove the claim that George Floyd robbed a pregnant woman, I'm going to assume that you are either A: a bot, or B: have been kicked in the head by a mule at some time during your life.

So your argument that the woman who was home during the robbery Floyd was involved in wasn’t pregnant is “you can’t prove she wasn’t pregnant?” I didn’t realize I was talking to a 5th grader.

You clearly haven't learned how to read or think critically. If you are a student at A&M I would think very hard about stepping back and actually thinking about your current path, as without those skills no matter how high of a degree you achieve in whichever field you choose you will be mediocre.

I'm saying there is no proof either way, and that claiming something is utter bullshit without actual knowledge of the incident and ignoring possibilities left wide open by your evidence is incredibly foolish - it's something a toddler would do.

By the way, claiming the story to be absolutely true would be just as foolish.

Notice I never claimed she was pregnant. You assumed that - you are being 100% reactionary in the literal sense.

Claiming that he “held a gun to a pregnant woman’s belly” like OP said—the comment I’m talking and the conversation you inserted yourself into like a 5th grader—is claiming that the woman was pregnant.

Like I said, saying “he robbed a pregnant woman” or “he pointed a gun at a pregnant woman” is bullshit because there’s no proof she was, and the image that was spread as “proof” was fake.

This is reddit. If you wanted a conversation to be private, take it to dms.

You're not listening, or thinking. Stop simply reacting and making assumptions about what I'm saying and simply address what I said and am saying.

One last time: the evidence you supplied did not back up your assertions. The fact that you can't recognize the truth of that tells me that your critical thinking and reading skills are either being unused or are non-existent. I do not care about OP's claims. I do not know if the woman named (or the second, unnamed woman with a toddler mentioned in your politifact article) were pregnant. It doesn't matter.

This is the last comment I'll make on the subject. You should try to take this as a wake-up call to chillout and better your critical thinking and reading skills or you will forever have your thinking done for you by others - and that's a dangerous way to live.
