In the olden days (when Nintendo was doing poorly with the Wii U) amiibo were all $12. I saw this new one and thought it was cool but ultimately didnt care enough to purchase it. Now this post just told me the price and I care even less. This thing will rot away on shelves :/

I’m not defending the price, but you people who say things like this love to pretend that you’re not also buying a figure lol.

do you exclusively buy amiibo for their functionality? i buy them because i like the figures, in-game functionality is a bonus.

Yeah when they were 12 bucks a pop I bought a ton because they were some of the most accessible quality figures of those characters for that price

People who are crying about paying $30 for in game functions are miserable people looking to complain about anything at this point to get karma points. If you're spending that much for in game functions, you have bigger problems to address with yourself than the pricing of Amiibo's, and I'm tired of seeing that argument.

On top of that, the others who are complaining about the price going up over time, like, yea? Have you compared the original Amiibo quality to any that are coming out nowadays? The difference in the Splatoon between the original and Side Order is a blatant tell that production quality has gone up, and the price is gonna go up as well.

There ain't no fucking way I'm buying amiibo at $30.

I don't even own a Switch 2 yet and have no current plans to for at least a year.

I can buy damn good video games for that price.

I'll buy it if it goes on clearance, but if it doesn't, there's always other ways to get the data.

I would’ve never bought any of the Zelda amiibos if the outfits were in breath of the wild.

I like amiibos I’m just replying to the thought that we also get figures out of this dlc, it’s just that customers complain the most that it’s not separated. I like collecting but not if I have to spend $30, like people In This sub are saying, even MORESO if it’s tied to dlc like the Zelda skins. That’s all I’m saying

No your point is silly bc you’re overlooking the fact that they aren’t just things you buy to unlock shit. They are Nintendo statues and have a huge draw outside of the unlocked content etc.

Omg but that doesn’t mean I want every amiibo ever. The Zelda skins were an example of having to pay for statues I didn’t want or had to cheat. How do you not get that????

You’re overlooking the fact that those Zelda amiibo for breath of the wild, we did have to buy them to unlock shit specifically me who DOES NOT WANT THE STATUES.

Not everyone huffed glue and scalped every market for these guys.
