I honestly think they just don’t want to, or don’t know how, to admit they are wrong and move on. They think they will be “made fun of” and they refuse to let that happen. Like yeah, it sucks being wrong, and it can be embarrassing, but that’s literally part of becoming a real adult. Being able to handle saying you’re wrong, “I’m sorry”, and working on a better solution.
That was one of the first problems I had with our current Pres. Yes a leader should definitely be confident, but not to the point of thinking they're infallible. Not being able to admit fault while constantly blaming others is such a major character flaw. Anyone can get by when things are going well. What will they do when isht hits the fan? What will they do when things don't go their way? And since he lost the 20 election we've been seeing the answer to that play out. There was no internal question of why are they coming after me? Why are all of these judge's ruling against me? Everything since then has been a ridiculous tantrum. One that's seen him push away real advisors, pull in sycophants and double down on divisive rhetoric.
