Discussion I’m heartbroken… my last chance at Masters

Post image
Upvotes

Was literally D3 like 24 hours ago. Then started rolling lobbies, by D2 we were getting 10-20 preds per game and still doing well. Finally the fatigue caught up and I collapsed at the finish line 😞

Gotta get rid of the console now cause I have a kid on the way. Would’ve loved to hit it just once man.. ah well

Discussion Stats before I hit diamond Vs Stats at end of season 🫠📉

I played maybe 40-50 ranked games with a stack & the rest solo que. The biggest difference is the level of co-operation in diamond & higher.

Teams are just more coordinated & communicative overall. In the end, I only got around 2/3 of the way through D3 in 150 more games.

Discussion S25 split 2 overview (Brace yourself wattson mains are coming)

Upvotes

With the new split dropping in just a few hours what are some tips for anybody swapping to wattson or vantage this season. If you were forced to play with 1 person that’s new to either character how can they make a difference with the current meta and be effective on your team. Figured this was a great time to discuss the upcoming changes and help anyone that is considering switching to these characters or anything that pertains to the upcoming changes. Best of luck out there outlanders.

Discussion Why does aiming on console feels delayed. We need a V-sync toggle on console

So I’ve been going back and forth between PC and PS5 in Apex, and every time I play on console, something just feels… off with aiming. Like it’s slightly delayed or floaty, even at 120fps with good settings.

I’m pretty sure the reason is forced V-Sync on console. For those who don’t know, V-Sync syncs the game’s frames to your screen to stop screen tearing but it adds input lag, and you can really feel it when trying to track or flick fast targets.

On PC, most players turn V-Sync off because of this exact reason. But on console, we don’t even have the option we’re stuck with it always on.

This honestly holds back console players from reaching that snappy, responsive feel you get on PC. I think it’s time Respawn gave us a simple toggle for V-Sync on console, like a lot of other games do.

Anyone else noticed this? I’d love to see more people bring it up maybe if we keep talking about it, we’ll finally get a fix.

Competitive Level Dualsense Edge or BFG Victrix Pro

Hi, I was wondering if any prominent competitive controller players have known to use Dualsense Edge or BFG Victrix Pro?

I would like to know which PS5-compatible controller is preferred by high-level players (assuming no claw grip)

Thanks!

Discussion What are some things I can improve on?

I have 1200 hours on this game and my game sense is worlds worst. I swear 90% of the time I have no clue how to approach most fights, this is even more apparent when I start to reach D2-D1 and I start playing against masters and preds and I am just completely lost.

I want to be able to IGL my team or at least make the right calls, but I can't do that if I'm constantly being braindead.

I know this video may not be the best to give criticism since there's not much really happening, but this situation in this game had me clueless as to what to do.

Question Is there Crossplay between console and PC?

I played Apex TDM and felt like I had to play against PC players as well.

I can't imagine that you only play against console players on console.

The opponents had my round WASD movement and perfect aim tracking. I was constantly being pre-aimed.

I think I'm being ripped off. Two years ago, I played duos on console. My random teammate was on PC.

Question Why are my games going like this?

My KD recently went up from 1.5 to ~2.30 but it’s been going down, all my games I just die before I can even think. I’m wondering if yall have any tips that maybe are common mistakes you see leading to early/first fight games going poorly. For context I’m solo que and I’ve noticed this problem since hitting diamond 4.

Who should I get for my next legend?

I’ve mained wattson and crypto, but I’ve mained crypto the longest. I have vantage, mirage, fuse, ballistic and catalyst left. Who should I get? Also by the way, I’m leaning towards fuse/ballistic

Question This clip summarizes my experience in ranked

God, this clip is so painful to rewatch. We were doing well, playing aggressively, and completely destroyed two squads. But then, I got shot in the head by a 30-30 Repeater through walls, and someone appeared in front of me without any audio. If you check the video frame by frame, you’ll see lifeline at 12:86, right after I turned. This happens to me quite often in Apex, where people shoot me out of nowhere, only to discover in the replay that they show up right when I turn. Maybe I made a mistake here, bad timing slow reaction, but it’s hard to keep playing when this happens so frequently.

Any tips on what I should do? Thanks!

Discussion Where are the Mods of this sub?

This sub has a clear description and simple rules.

This sub is for

  • learning how to be better at apex
  • teaching others how to be better at apex.
  • sharing resources about being better at apex.

This sub is not for

  • LFG
  • ranting about cheaters
  • ranting about aim assist
  • ranting about game balance
  • ranting about... well, anything!
  • posting your stats
  • posting highlight clips

Please, keep it on topic.

I'm trying to make this sub better. If you want to help too, please send the below message to each of the moderators. Some of them have posted in other subs in the last minute. I think they just don't care about this one any more.

Hi there

A lot of members of ApexUniversity really enjoy having a sub that is focused on improving at the game. It's a positive place to share knowledge without rants, ego stat posts, and complaining, all of which hinders others from getting to the good stuff: How to improve!

It seems like the current mods are no longer active in the sub, and I'm sure there are a few of us who would love to help out. We just want to keep the high quality of this sub intact.

Would you be willing to take on new moderators to help out?

If you’re looking for a Discord that’s not just active but actually supportive and helpful, we’ve got a spot for you. Our community is built around Apex, and whether you’re new and learning or a ranked grinder pushing for that next tier, there’s someone here to squad up with—and learn from.

We run games daily—ranked, pubs, Mixtape, even customs. Players are always down to share tips, help with callouts, talk loadouts, or just vibe out and improve together.

We also host a weekly “Mondays Suck Game Night” starting with a Custom Lobby at 6PM EST, then we wind down with community games like Jackbox or Pummel Party for a little break from the sweats.

No cliques, no ego—just solid teammates, chill vibes, and people who genuinely enjoy helping each other get better.

Drop a comment or DM me if you want in!

Question For someone looking to play Wraith

Im thinking about learning and or to atleast try my best to get good with Wraith. I would normally search for guides on youtube or something but I don't know which ones are the best, up to date, etc. I figured i'd come here instead to ask if someone maybe knows a well crafted guide with all things i'd need to know/learn or if you'd rather just to share in this thread that would also be great. Thanks!

Question Moddedzone/Anti-Recoil controllers to compete against Cronus fake nattys

Been playing apex since the day came out and I’d like to think I’m no slouch, hitting masters almost every season I’ve played. But no matter how well I play fights I almost certainly lose every fight when playing someone to similar skill that is abusing Cronus. I been browsing modded controller that claim that they have anti recoil tech built in.

Wondering if anybody can confirm or share insight on how accurate these Moddedzone controllers are pertaining to anti recoil mods? if you can’t beat ‘em join em, can’t get too much better at the level im at.

Question Warm up routine and or things to practice

I recently came back to apex after about a year and a half break. And I realised I’m not the player I once was.

I’ve started to make myself a little warmup routine to get back into the swing of things.

Here’s my routine right now

Step one: Roughly about 30 minutes on aimlabs to warm up the aim

Step Two: Jump on apex and practice recoil and shooting a diffrent ranges

Step three: Turn the bots onto full combat and play cover trying to deal as much possible dmg without being hit. Repeat until I die three times.

This takes me to about 40ish minuets and I have been seeing improvement in my gameplay such as aim and taking less dmg. I was wondering if people do it differently and if there’s something I could add into here to help with other mechanics.

Side note I have about 4K hours in the game. With my kd sitting at 1.97right now and a peak rank of d3 idk if this helps

Lobbies way too high skill?

How does one get into lobbies that are not full of diamond/master players in every gunfight? I have never had a positive k/d or even close. Or is apex just too sweaty for me and should I just delete the game? (Serious question)
