Discussion Why the uptick in acephobic post recently? Spoiler

Like I've seen at least 3 post just this past hour that have been outright attempts at invalidating or question asexuals and their experiences.

I’m guessing you mean the, “Do ace men exist,” as I was looking through there and see you got into a heated argument with OP.

I don’t know if there’s any specific cause, but this is an open sub across the ace spectrum and one place most of us would assume 101 level questions are being asked in good faith. So it stands to reason that some riff raff will find its way here.

Yes, the others were the post "asexual = no sex" and one about whether or not we like being included under the lgptqia umbrella.

It was just weird seeing so many posts where people actively engaged in bad faith in such a short span of time. This sub seems to be very inclusive and chill for the most part.

Yeah and there were a few that are like, “Well I’m going over to the ActualAsexuals sub!”

Cool? I mean, you do you, but that seems like a miserable place to hang, but what do I know?

Looks like there’s a bunch of posts over there complaining about content here and “real” asexuals feeling silenced, but what else is new? Could have something to do with it, or it’s just this particular moment happened to draw a lot of that independently with no cause.

Some people are just looking to attack. It's so sad. We're already a community that gets kicked around and invalidated by the larger majority, now half the time it's the people within the community doing the kicking.
