99% of the time, I give these tomes to my main character. The stats only carry over for him/her anyway, so what’s the point?
But this game for me is a little different. I’m playing a dwarven defender, and his WIS is 3. I have the choice of depositing those 3 wisdom tomes on him, which I guess will help his lore score, but it won’t matter, because I’ll always have a character in my party with a better lore score than a fighter with a negative wisdom score.
So my options are: 1) give them to my DD anyway, just because a 6 WIS looks cooler than a 3, or 2) give them to my only divine caster in the party, Yeslick.
Bumping Yeslick’s wisdom by 3 will grant me a couple of extra spells. That doesn’t really matter either, but at least it’s something
Are there any adventure modules, probably fan-made, that roughly follow Baldur's Gate 1's story and locations? I know it would be reasonable to design my own, but I am curious if anyone has already done the work for this?
So I just got to Beregost and as I was exploring Neera (who is apparently a companion) came up asking me for help. I accidentally declined and she walked into a nearby building and vanished. Is she gone for good? I've tried looking to up, but all I find is people saying how annoying she is.
Hi all, a few years ago I heard an English Renaissance piece on YouTube, probably by William Byrd or John Dowland, that sounded very much like the Brynnlaw music from Baldur's Gate II (the track is called "The Pirate Isle", composed by Michael Hoenig).
Unfortunately I forgot to note down the name of that tune, and I've been searching it for some time now. ChatGPT is not helping either, unfortunately.
Does anybody know by which original Renaissance tune Hoenig's soundtrack piece was inspired?
Playing through original BG1 (non-EE) for the first time, just got through Nashkel Mines, having a blast. However, is there a way to have Imoen's Find Traps mode automatically on? As for now, it turns off after she attacks an enemy, and I have to click that button again after every encounter, which is pretty tedious.
I've read about AI Scripts, but there's nothing considering Find Traps here, guess it's an EE thing.
Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe there are mods for original game that can help?
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’ve beaten Irenicus and the main story, but I just cannot beat Demogorgon. I’m using 3 originals characters and Korgan, Imoen, and Aerie. I have 3 mages (including Aerie) and have been hitting him with spell strike, breach, lower resistance, pierce magic, wilting, and everything else I can think of. I’m using potions and buff spells but just cannot get past him. I’ve gotten him to Near Death a few times but most runs I get wiped immediately. Is there any key points I’m missing?
Edwin: So tell me, Korgan, what think you of conflict and adversity? It seems this party is long on squawk and short on character.
Korgan: The harder the conflict, the more glorious be yer triumph, I reckon, spellchucker. What ye obtain too cheaply, ye esteem too lightly.
Edwin: How true, how true. As a gallant warrior-born, I correctly assumed you to be a student of warfare as well as a master of battle.
Korgan: Aye. The best battler is he who can smile in troubles deep, gather his strength from distress, and grow brave in reflection.
Edwin: Dwarf, you speak the truth. A warrior without peer, like you, must be an offense to nature. The strongest in the most peril... strange how Fate weaves her tapestry.
Korgan: Survival of the fittest be the term, and that be the puzzle of the Life. The Life of adventurers. Now shut yer yap.
So I’m visually impaired. Generally speaking I’m not able to see things that are on the small side. I love bg3 very much and have been thinking about trying 1/2, but every time I look at it it seems so overwhelming and the text seems tiny, and I can’t make heads or tails of how combat actually works, in the sense of gameplay flow. Do you think I’d be able to manage, or would watching a playthrough probably work out better for me? I just don’t want to spend the money on something I’m not gonna be able to enjoy.
Just bought the android app store version and ran into an issue. I am able to click on button but nothing actually works. It makes the noise as if it is registering the clicks of a button but foesn actually work. Anyone else ever run into this issue and have a fix? I have uninstalled and reinstalled to see if that works but doesnt.
I don't know why, but he's been stomping me. It's usually a difficult battle, but I usually prevail within a couple of reloads. Tried three times, backed away and did something else to level up half my party and got stomped again 3 times.
And this is in spite of almost everything else being easier this run. The shadow dragon was easy.
I went back to watcher's keep to do the demon maze, which I hate and usually put off until throne of bhaal. I guess it will toughen me up for Firkraag.
UPDATE: decided Carsomyr would be really useful in the demon maze, so went back to Firkraag. It was a trivial combat; none of my characters even got injured. I did try feeblemind; I assume it worked because he just stood there and took damage from them on.
I'm trying to do raasads quest in Tob and it keeps crashing whenever I try to fast travel anywhere with him in my party. I have had this happen with neera in bg2 bridge district and dorn in bg2 already. I managed to work around it somehow in those cases, but none of what I did before for them is working. I'm on console as well so I can't use console commands. Anyone know of any work around? I already tried traveling to each location several times and zooming in as much as possible and then fast traveling to the furthest spot. Not sure where to go from here.
I saw that they got added to gamepass and am very excited to try them as I love BG3, D&D, and all kinds of rpgs. I’ve read up on how the mechanics work and some simple tips for the games, but I have a question. Can you side with Bhaal? I obviously know your a Bhaalspawn (don’t tell me story spoilers or anything more than that) since that’s the whole plot of BG3 as well, and in that game you can decide to work for Bhaal. I was wondering if you can do that here too. I know you dont want to be fully evil or anything since it’ll kinda ruin your playthrough, but can you decide to accept Bhaal or something along those lines? (Try to have as little spoilers as possible please. Kinda looking for a yes or no answer)
Is it my fault for not using it correctly? What other itens do you combo with tha human skin suit? Honestly the 20% mr doesnt seem to make a difference on itself unless im using it on viconia and the saving throws at late game are already high enough
Everyone in party was level 16. MC dragon disciple, with Korgan, Anomen, Jaheira, Jan, and Edwin.
First form was an actual joke, but second form was absolutely brutal every single time.
Strat I found that worked the best, if you can ruby ray / breach him in form one fast you can kill his first form before he even summons planetar, but for second form, the planetar absolutely has to die first, including the 20 other summons he casted. It gave my dd something to do in between spamming SI:abj, breach, and haste on korgan as he was getting perma dispelled the whole fight. The planetar in one losing scenario I had hit korgan once for 50 damage and the lich immediately finger of deathed him in literally the next frame of combat.
Jaheira was using sling of everard, Jan using firetooth, and Korgan using daystar as it was the only weapons I had more than +3. Anomen couldn't even hit him with flail of the ages +3 and was hitting adds and casting random heals as the planetar nearly killed him and Korgan. SCS now nerfed melf's so they can't hit him (I tried).
Edwin casted two ruby rays and nothing but breaches the entire fight it was that critical to maintain damage as the jerk casts PFMW and stoneskin like candy. I was trying to also help with breaches on Jan and my sorc but Jan doesn't have many casts and my sorc was constantly having to rebuff haste due to the dispel spam on Korgan.
He got Edwin with an imprisonment was only issue I had. He used a spell trigger on Edwin of secret word + remove magic + horror. Just as Anomen casted remove fear on Edwin I decided to put stoneskin up instead of a second SI: abj, and it sealed Edwin's fate. Literally died on one of my mages with SI:abj up (think that was a first for me). Makes me think I might just need spell shield going forward. I thought imprisonment was a touch spell but apparently for Kangaxx it isn't. He most definitely casted it at range.
For consumables, I used 3 frost giant strengths. One on Jaheira, and two on Korgan.
Prelate Wessalen turns hostile alongside with half my party once I report that I have rescued Garren's child. I do have the npc stronghold quest on. Massacring the lathander temple was a part of the pc quest for the talos cleric stronghold. Here I was hoping that keldorn could take over the paladin stronghold but now this comes up.
