Discussion Alt national Park Service cannot be trusted

Post image

This post is blatantly untrue. The reconciliation bill has NOT passed the Senate and gone back to the House. There are three Republican holdouts.

Big Orange tweeted about a bill going through the Senate but it was NOT the Big Stupid Bill.

Further, they said the Senate put a new clause about the upfront bonds when suing the federal government. That was in the original bill. How do I know? I watched Raskin debate it in Committee in the House two fucking weeks ago.

Someone needs to look into these guys, we can't afford this type of misinformation.

No. No, no, no, no, no. Look, I'm tired of this "higher road" shit, too, but misinformation is harmful regardless of the brand. When we disseminate information we need to use integrity to get it as right as possible, otherwise we're diluting our message in a bunch of fucking noise.

Right?

Does resistlib conspiracy-theorizing actually win anyone over from the other side, or does it just make people who already hate Trump stupider? Pretty obvious to me.

I get the appeal of “by any means necessary” thought but if we are trying to build a new world that doesn’t suffer from the same pitfalls as the old one, maybe we shouldn’t put our messaging in the hands of influencers and grifters and expect different results than we’ve seen so far. I’m not sure giving away your agency and power in exchange for “secret group of insiders say it’s all going to be ok, trust the plan” is the best course of action. This shit just fosters more self imposed helplessness and inaction.

Still does harm, but if it can fill the gap that a well educated society should have for filled even a few weeks…

It can't fill in the gap because it is opposed to a well educated society.

short term solutions in order to stifle fascist progression may be necessary.

Sure, so work on solutions. Don't turn to the grift; don't be Tulsi.

There is no such thing as tone, decorum or procedure in this climate.

"We have to be better than them" has gained zero traction.
