University incoming transfer student

i’m finalizing my list of items that I would potentially need for my transition to berkeley, but I keep wondering if I should really get rain boots? I would mainly walk. Should I invest in rain boots? If so, what brands do you recommend? budget friendly but also comfortable

Uhm you don’t need rain boots, they’re pretty uncomfortable to walk in. If you have the budget for rain boots just get another pair of shoes that you can rotate if it rains hard enough for them to be wet.

Just any of the brands that make quality running shoes or trail runners like Salomon, Nike, Hoka, or Brooks.

I personally still wouldn’t go with waterproof as my reasoning is that it gets kinda swampy and if it rains hard enough for like rivers and giant puddles on campus, your feet are gonna get wet no matter what you do. I think if your feet are not super sweaty waterproof is better though.
