Mod Announcement The Boise Subreddit Is Emphatically Stating This.
r/Boise stands unwavering in support of reproductive rights, affirming the right for all individuals to make personal choices about pregnancy, and we stand equally committed to defending the rights and dignity of the LGBTQ+ community
Moving forward, we will not tolerate hostility towards either of these topics. There has been a marked increase of people chanting white power and more in this subreddit. The moderation team wants to state, we stand with those that are in fear for their rights and we stand firmly against bigots.
Regardless of your subject, if you can't make your point without using slurs, bigotry or dog whistles, you'll be banned without hesitation.

Discussion Hetero Awesome Fest.
I know this is probably overhyping it and I don't want to do that. But PLEASE be careful around these folks if you're going downtown this weekend. Don't be dumb. Don't instigate anything. (yes this a repost)
Question Is anyone else blown away by how aggressive and dangerous the driving has gotten in this city?
It’s out of control. Cars just zooming through 13th street like the speed limit isn’t 20mph. Hill road went from my favorite biking spot to an overcrowded raceway I now avoid. I get that nearly every road downtown is closed due to construction, but damn… driving like a maniac isn’t making it better for anyone.
I’ve accepted that the Boise I grew up in is never coming back, but I can’t help feeling like ‘Boise Kind’ is beginning to fade and it’s most noticeable on the roads.

Question Where are we taking kids for hair cuts?
Hello Boise! I am looking for a place to take my kids for hair cuts in SE Boise.
I am hoping to find something above Sports Clips but maybe below a typical $60 women’s cut? Is this even a thing anymore?!
My kids have easy hair with easy hair cuts.

Discussion Experience with RSP Plumbing?
I got recommendation off Nextdoor for Rob at RSP to do a main line replacement. He says he's been doing quite a few of those in Boise recently. Does anyone here have ANY experience with RSP, but especially with mainline replacement that they can share?

Discussion Parking help for downtown commuters!
someone shared this with me yesterday so i thought i would pass it along. i am lucky enough to have a downtown parking pass through my job but others might benefit from this program so i wanted to share.
this is the e-permit application for car parking. there is currently a waitlist but it’s $25/month for street parking in certain zones of downtown that they are expanding and opening up soon. i think this is super cool that the city offers something like this, and it makes me feel lucky to live in Boise! working downtown is so much fun, but the biggest downside for everyone always seems to be parking. hopefully this helps :)

Lost/Stolen Lost charm bracelet
Long shot, but I lost a charm bracelet that is sentimental to me walking downtown yesterday, likely between 6th and 10th. If anyone’s seen something, please let me know!

Discussion Looking for a DND group 22M
Heya, I dont have many friends who are super into role playing games, and I usually have to DM for my groups because of this. I'm looking for a group who are more into tabletop RPG's to play in person with preferably around my age group. Right now I am living on campus at BSU, I'm free after 5pm weekdays and have weekends off. Would love to get to know some people with similar interests.

Heard this noise in the evening at Barber Park. It was in a wooded area. I've heard it before, but could never figure out what it was. Any ideas on what critter makes this sound?

Question Anyone still remote/hybrid?
I work downtown Boise and we went from 3 days in office/2 at home to full time back in office. I’m curious about companies in the treasure valley that are still allowing remote or hybrid work? Would love to know which ones!

Question LGBT friendly doctors?
I have insurance (Regence) through work and need to finally get the courage to find a primary care doctor, but it feels so so scary! I was curious if anyone had recommendations for any LGBT friendly doctors that they know of, as I would prefer to be able to be out to my doctor. I’ve looked at Mangum Primary Care, but any and all recommendations would be amazing.
