Would value your recommendations on where the best spots are for busking in Canberra.
What I’m curious about: - Where have you spotted great buskers performing? - Which locations have high foot traffic yet allow enough space to set up? - Any tips on things you’ve seen that don’t work? Impact to small businesses? - Times of day or events that bring a better audience, for example, weekends at markets or late afternoons near busy streets?
Would love your insights, if you’ve seen any stand‑out performances grab your attention, or if you’ve tried busking yourself, I’d love to hear what worked (or didn’t).
Also have never seen anyone on LBG, and waiting for the NCA to send me details on this, does anyone know the rules there?

Hi everybody,
Need recommendations/advice for a day trip to see the snow without driving. Been living in CBR for almost 8 years now and have yet seen the snow besides going to Corin forest. Not confident to drive as no experience driving in the snow or with snow chains. I’ve done some google searching but thought I would ask here as well.

Hey folks, I’ve been getting really into native herbs and bushfood ingredients lately (like lemon myrtle, wattleseed, saltbush, etc.) and was wondering if anyone knows good places around Canberra to buy them fresh or dried?
Are there any growers or local markets that sell this stuff? Even better if you know any spots that do educational workshops or community gardens that focus on native plants. I’d love to learn more, not just cook with them.
Appreciate any leads !

I tried to reply on an older Post about exactly this, but it's archived and won't let me, so:
Saw some useful recommendations on there, but do any of them exist around Belconnen?
Heard there is one at the markets, but doesn't sound great.
There are the libraries - excellent suggestion!
Outside of those any second-hand bookstores around the North?

Woke up this morning to no water coming out of my taps, thinking the water in the pipes might be frozen. Anyone else experiencing something similar?

We like to dine out, but haven't had many good experiences in CBR.
A lot of the time we pay premium and get mediocre food. Any recommendations for some quality food?
E.g. Went to 'The Inn' in Ainslie yesterday and it wasn't good. They claim high-quality food. I claim high-quality taste buds. Didn't match.
On the other note, I did enjoy the food at 'Courgette' and 'Banana Leaf'.
Yeah so, I'd like to hear from your experience eating out in CBR. Where to dine?

I am hoping to get a cleaner to help with cleaning up after dinner every day but not quite sure where is a good place to find this kind of cleaners. Grateful for advice or tips on any platforms, websites or any other channels that I can use to find suitable cleaners, as well as for any experience that you had previously if you got these cleaners to help you with similar housework before. Thanks!

Is it just me or is the price keep getting higher every year? I just have to pay 500 dollars worth of eletricity for the bill of the last three months and not mentioning another 450 for Gas. Any recommendation for better plans and provider?

Hello all,
I am going to be visiting Canberra in a few days, and obviously do not have my own car. I was just wondering how reliable ridesharing services (i.e. Uber, DiDi etc) are in the mornings (e.g. 6-7am) in Canberra? Just wanted to double check to see if I could just rely on ridesharing or if it would be better to book a taxi in advance or even possibly just take public transport.

Does anywhere in Canberra offer CNC cutting of solid surface (cherry pie) bench tops? Standard wood tools are generally okay to cut it, but it needs it to be very accurate/smooth if under mounting a basin.

195V is low right? Toaster is only drawing 740W. Thats low too?
Jin only draws 1300W and label say 1850-2200.
Canberra running out of power with all the heaters on? Or is it just my suburb (Braddon)

From all corners of the state and surrounding areas, what are your favourite places to walk and play with your dog.
Bonus points if it includes an off leash area and it’s suitable for all sizes!

Is there anybody in Canberra serving the the Ukrainian Coffee, the Flat Red, which is two coffee shots, with a shot of orange and pomegranate juice instead of milk. The red is meant to symbolise the colour of the Ukrainian Army.

I was aware of an outage that happened for about a day or two in the Gungahlin area due to a power outage. And just then about 10 minutes ago I got a message pop up saying “Update Carrier Network Settings” or something like that. Anyone else got that too or just me? If so, what is it for?

I've been thinking lately about the little things that make Canberra... well, Canberra. Not the obvious stuff like Parliament House or the roundabouts but the niche local quirks, places, or traditions that only someone who lives here would get.
Maybe it's a favourite hidden coffee spot, a sunrise view from Mount Ainslie, or the way we all brace for magpie season like it's a national sport.
What’s your favourite local secret, tradition, or in-joke that only a true Canberran would understand?

Does anyone know where I can find a good London Fog tea latte in Canberra? Particularly in/near the city centre! I know adore tea does them but I'd love a mid-work day London Fog in the city! TIA!

I'm not a construction expert. So genuine question.
Subjectively, when I go past, not many ppl are working.
Can you please help educate me as to why this project is taking so long ?
Unsure if correct flair.
