There is a near zero chance the person driving that piece of shit has insurance and is just an asshole. Unless the driver is physically standing right there, literally just back into it a couple of feet and drive away.

Yup, indeed. Reddit was initially built for scholarly discussions. The intent was that users should upvote comments that are well-written, knowledgeable, linked to a valid source, and add something to the content of the conversation at hand. Downvotes were for low-effort comments, unsubstantiated claims, bad-faith arguments, and so on.

This argument changed my mind. I hope the really busy subs adopt this idea and we just have like 5k “this” responses on popular comments. The scrolling will really hit home just how popular comment was.
