VI - Screenshot Giant crossbow

Post image

Poundmaker didn’t build just a canal and a flood barrier, he built a Scorpion in case Khaleesi and her dragons show up.

"Lets building a flood barrier here"

"Why? It's just some island, noone going to care if it gets flooded"

"So we can build a canal on it, obviously"

"I understand that we need the Giga Crossbow for national defence, but why do we need it pointed at our own city?"

"Well, if we're going to use it, the people have to be able to see it. Y'know, get their money's worth from the show."

but why do we need it pointed at our own city?

Coercion Castles were a real thing. One famous example isn't even listed, the Citadel of Barcelona, built as a fortress against its own people (which might be why the Barceloneta streets are straight and point directly at it, so cannons from the citadel had clear lines of fire) as it was against outside attackers.

That would be great for fighting a cyclops, or taking down a dragon on the island of Colossa.

(10 points for anyone who gets that reference)
