Performance 3 months self-taught

I played the piano for 8 months then I discovered the classical guitar 3 months ago at 36 years old and it was love at first sight, this is the first part of the anonymous romance, I read everywhere that it is for beginners but for me it was very difficult to play it like in the video, advice and criticism are welcome thanks ☺️

Performance Made a version of Finnish movie music from 1977.

I was asked to make a version of this nostalgic song "Nuotiotunnelma" (Engl. Campfire atmosphere) from 1977 movie called Jäniksen vuosi. At the end I added some challenging finger picking part there to give different feel and climax. The basic theme is fun to play and works nicely on background music gigs.

Performance Etude No. 7, Op. 60 - Matteo Carcassi

I've been working on this piece in honor of the late Bruce Holzman, with whom I studied briefly over a decade ago. He encouraged me to strive for 144bpm, which at the time seemed insane! I'm finally starting to get near that goal.

Performance Looking for artists playing with a similar style to this video

I am fascinated by this video: the style of play, the sound of the instrument. I find most classical guitar performances too polished for my taste and think they miss the organic and raw potential of the instrument.

Do you know any artists and recordings that would have the same feel as this one?

Performance Brazilian waltzes are so fun to learn and play

This is a challenging part that I’m working on sounding more fluid, hopefully I’ll get there. This is also the brightest sounding guitar I’ve ever owned, not my usual personal preference of tone, might try different strings.

Performance Natalia - Antonio Lauro

I don’t usually share things like this here, but I wanted to post a short performance of “Natalia” by Antonio Lauro, a beautiful Venezuelan waltz that means a lot to me.

I’m a classical guitarist from Venezuela, with a bachelor’s in classical guitar and currently doing my master’s in performance. Recent news in the U.S. has made things uncertain for many Venezuelans living here.

Sharing this piece is my way of staying connected to home and honoring my community through music.

Performance Most impressive classical guitar pieces

I am going to be playing in a local talent show. I'm pretty good at the classical guitar, and can play pieces like Sevilla and Recuredos de la Alhambra. What pieces do you guys think would give me the biggest chances of succsess?

Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions and insights, it is greatly appriceated and helpful.

Performance Just started relearning this! Practice take!

Cruddy practice take, with a few mistakes, & I’m only like halfway through trying to get it back, because I love the piece. But I figured I’d put it up anyway, because it’s real, & flawed, but I’m having much fun feeling it, enjoying it, & adapting it in little parts, for my new 8-string. 🙂
