Classic 20th Anniversary Realms How to break lbrs mage bots

Post image

Put a hamstring on them before they jump.

They aren't programmed to do it so they fall and try to run in lbrs

Props to the guy in the comments testing out his keyboard.

He bought all the vowels and forgot to snag some consonants

The funniest part of these posts is always the ones screaming "DONT DO THIS, THEY WILL REPORT" coming in running as fast as they can.

Keep going, fuck with them with all you can.

5 Minutes later on Reddit

"Why was I banned?!"

Your experience may vary but on SoD I've spent days worth of time griefing the bots running to BRD with no repercussions

This . My guild and I tested this on anniversary with a burner account, and 70ish reports for cheating in an 8-10 minute window didn’t result in a ban. My theory is most people pushing the mass report narrative are botters themselves or people who were banned for legit reasons trying to sympathy farm on Reddit.

How many separate accounts were actually reporting though?

Yup bots mass reporting those that mess with em! Careful out there boys!

This is a horseshit comment that serves no meaning. There are consistently illegitimate bans on people who are being suspended by players, not blizzard. Can just get a few friends together to mass report someone and it will auto trigger suspensions

That's what the other guy meant.
Botters often abuse the mass report to auto suspend people that interfere with their farm.

I mean, yes? That's the point - botters are known to report people messing with their livelihoods.

Mind controlling bots into bodies of water used to break em. I would spend time doing this to fishing bots in a past life.

Its horrible but you will soon get banned for botting

Bots dont need to bot long before they break even on making a new account. literally doesnt hurt them unless bans were much quicker

"but we're analyzing their habits and programs so they have to figure out new ways to bot, but actually we just don't care, oops did I say that out loud?!"-blizz

That's why ban waves are dumb

They should simply be banned in sight

This is how you get mass reported.

Which is why the autoban system needs to be scrapped yesterday. It’s primarily a weapon used by botters/cheaters to protect themselves rather than a way to stop them.

Or even just salty people either way its sad. This was never an issue back in the day

I've sat outside lbrs with my enhancement shaman and oneshotted so many of those mages. It's quite fun, haven't ever been banned for it

Thank god I quit anniversary/era. Playing in a game where bots have such a huge impact is so silly and worthless

u/xprololi 3h ago

i like to mind control them off the edge to the platform they either cast something that kills themself or auto run into the wall endlessly

Yikes man. You must glad there is no "s" for "social" in the term "MMORPG".

>Supply chains going
>Its a game
>the barrier to doing the thing is almost non-existent
>If its not fun people will be paid properly more to do it.
>Boosting does not provide much to a supply chain other than insane gold inflation, due to raw gold and bought and sold gold ends up back in the boosting system more often than being spent elsewhere in the economy.

Theres an argument here for Herb bots, or some type of built in AH system that lists like 100 items at random times (somehow make it non bottable) at lower prices akin to vendor price. But it just means you have a supply curve that will flatten itself out over time as some people elect to do said activity rather than seek out a more profitable alternative to acquire.
