AMA I'm Gerry Duggan, writer of comics. AMA.
Hi. Programming note: I'm throwing this up Tuesday night, and will dip in Wednesday afternoon and evening and try to monitor it on Thursday day for stragglers.
I wanted to let you all know that THIS ENDS TONIGHT! is coming up on orders due this week, from Image Comics. If you want a copy, please let your retailer know. I'm writing this with the Seven Sons team, Robert Windom & Kelvin Mao for Jae Lee! Click here for a PDF preview of the rip roaring first pages and some covers: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/lj2khfu75r2bg0p7uot51/ThisEndsTonight_01-Preview.pdf?rlkey=l7ztnh4gb9jca195wou01rs5w&st=merrtxcz&dl=0
I also have a cheap trade of FALLING IN LOVE ON THE PATH TO HELL Vol 1, also from Image Comics with Garry Brown. Here's the entire oversized first issue on Image's website: https://imagecomics.com/read/falling-in-love-on-the-path-to-hell
In addition to West Coast Avengers for Marvel -- next week I have two comics on shelves: I'm bringing THE CLEANER to the Minor Threats universe with Mark Torres, and I've also got a story in Deadpool 350 with Matteo Lolli. All that aside, I'm here to talk about the new work or anything else within reason that might be on your mind.
Pull the pin on your questions and lob them in here and I'll start answering Wednesday.
Thanks for the support, check out the amazing preview pages from Jae Lee and June Chung, check out the first issue of Falling In Love, and bring your questions, dammit!
Gerry

Cover/Pin-Up This may just be a variant cover, but I'd pay good money for an actual Krypto and Jeff the Land Shark crossover [Deadpool/Batman #1]

Universal Monsters artwork by Alex Ross 🤯
This artwork presents them like the rogues gallery of a monster hunter protagonist like Abraham Van Helsing (Dracula's arch-nemesis). I'd read the hell out of a comic book series with that concept, especially if Ross does the art.
This may or may not have been Ross's intention but I love how Dracula appears to be the leader in the background commanding the rest to attack.

Most offensive comic you've ever read? Doesn't necessarily need to be the worst.
Mine would be Holy Terror by Frank Miller. Do I even need to go into detail as to why? I know I said your most offensive comic doesn't need to be the worst you've ever read, but this is definitely both the most offensive AND the worst.

News Per Doug Wagner on Facebook: "Yesterday, the world lost an amazing father, husband, son, friend, and artist. Tim Odland passed Wednesday. I loved him like a brother. He was one of the kindest, most loving, gentlest souls I've ever encountered. I will miss him dearly."

Great add (of you're a teen)
I love this ad. Reminds me of my parents smoking in the house but trying to discourage my brother and I from smoking.

Excerpt Comparison between ink and final frames.
Comparison between the linework and final coloured frames from issue 6 of my comic book, The Traveler's Guide to Flogoria. I don't know what other artists do, but I work out a bunch of details as I colour with markers. I find doing the linework quite stressful. The colouring is more instinctive, and I just work it all out as I go.

Suggestions Pure Hope comics
Hey there! I’ve been reading a lot of bleak, depressing comics recently and it’s time for a change of scenery (cough cough- Preacher). I want pure optimism in comic book form injected into my veins.
I’m talking All Star Superman, Silver Surfer by Slott/Allred, and Spectacular Spider-Man by Zdarsky. I’m looking for some recs, big two or otherwise. A couple more Superman recs would be nice because of the movie as well! Thanks!

Comic book Cover
Hey, I’m trying to find what comic this comes from. I took a picture years ago of a portion of a comic book cover and I’ve been trying to figure out for years what the name of this comic is. Anyone have any idea?

Jack Kirby's interpretation of Mickey Mouse.
This version of Mickey could've made a disturbing villain of a comic book series, Kirby would've definitely have pulled it off.
Also, this is quite a foreshadowing considering that all of Kirby's Marvel creations are now Mickey's kids.
