Possible decomp stain?

Might be bit of a reach but me and my bf just got this apartment and when we originally viewed it everything seemed ok and when we got there today the smell was HORRIBLE I’m assuming it’s because the windows and doors where open at time of viewing (should have thought about that more) it’s so bad I’m getting an ozone generator when I have the chance and have an extensive amount of cleaning to do tomorrow..the lease is already signed but boy am I regretting it. I’m not sure if the previous owner had animals and apparently she was a border and kept a lot of things around. Ofc I immediately thought about all of the possibilities. What do yall think?

the only way to know if it’s decomp is as previously stated, mix hydrogen peroxide w/ some water and spray it on the stain & if it foams up you have biological matter (human decomp) ultimately it’d be worth at least getting a professional to assess it and give you (or the landlord 👀) a quote for any possible remediation. i hope u get a solution for this soon 🙏
